Is he eating enough?

Jake has always been a good little drinker but the past couple of days I've been getting a bit concerned.

He's bottle fed Aptamil and seems to me to not be drinking as much as usual.

Last night he had 5ozs at about 9pm then slept through till 4.45am. He only drank 3ozs then went back to sleep until 9am when he had another 3.5ozs. He had 4.5ozs at 11.30am and then 6ozs at 3.30pm and another 6ozs at 6.30pm. He only took 3ozs max at 9pm and is out like a light in bed.

He used to take at least 4ozs at every feed but I guess if he wanted more to drink he'd let me know???

I typed a big reply there and then it never sent, annoying! Louie has been like this today as well where his feeds have varied. He usually has between 5-6oz but sometimes he has only had 3oz. I think as long as there still looking for a feed it's ok. I think with louie it's the heat as all he's done today is sleep xx

Jakes been quite sleepy today too, he's got wet and dirty nappies and still wakes up for feeds so he's not behaving any differently.
I'll keep an eye on it and call my HV if his appetite decreases further or he doesn't seem bothered about eating.

It really has been hot and bet he is sleepy. He sounds ok, but like someone said, make a note of the feeds and times , so when you see your HV you have all the info for a weeks worth - hope he drinks more tomorow, but he is nice and regular except after 9pm, but sounds a great baby at nights X

Well after only drinking 3ozs before bed last night Jake slept till 6.30 this morning! He then drank 5ozs which is more normal for him. Will keep a record of his drinking this week just incase I need to speak to HV.
