I have had my follow up scan today and the heart was fine. REALLY relieved, and very glad.

Aftr being told this week that the baby is 'probably a girl' today we were told that baby is 'probably a boy'. Today we had a different sonographer.

She showed us the pic of the raised are between the legs, but I thought it was possible for the labia to be swollen on a girl at this stage? We couldn't see anything other than the raised area, no little attachment!

I'm not sure what to think now. We are gearing ourselves up for a boy, but it just didn't look conlusive to us.

Does anyone know of anyone being told they are carrying a boy to end up with a girl? Not sure what to think :?

I think we are going to plan on having a boy. We already have two (although my hubbies first) so if it is a girl it will be a nice surprise.

I coud definitely see the lump.. but I just don't get the 'boy' feeling with this one. Heavily spread weight gain, unlike my boys, sickness stopped at 11 weeks, sick all the way with my boys. I just don't know!

I'm telling myself it's a boy!

What a shame the results are inconclusive Valley Girl. I thought that at 20 weeks it was really apparent? So does that mean that even if you paid for a private sexing scan they might not be able to tell or get it wrong?

I really don't know. I think they might spend more time looking maybe.

I guess it is just a boy!! They are always awkward!

Was wong for me, I had 2 scans which both said I was having a boy and hey ho I had a girl :rotfl:

oh no lol. Now Im worried about decorating the nursery for a boy or girl!!

AAGH!!!!!!

I just cannot get my head around this!

I saw the bit inbetween the baby's legs she meant... a kind of bulge.

But for some reason I don't believe it. It just feels wrong. I don't know what to do, go for a gender scan or just belt up!

HELP LADIES HELP!!!!

Oh Valley Girl I sympathise lol... Hey, why dont you go for a private scan? You can call a few first and ask how 'accurate' their predictions are.. I know it might cost a bit but maybe it'll be third time lucky? I want to do a private gender scan at 20 wks but after reading this thread I'm getting just as anxious about the accuracy!! :wall:

I feel so awful for being frustrated about it. I can't explain it!

There are so many awful things that happen to people, and if I have a little boy, made of me and my husband I know I will love him SO much. And I wouldn't want to change him for the world.

It just doesn't feel right!!

I have to say I had a gender scan at 16 weeks and was told 'boy' when she pointed out the bits on the screen it was VERY obvious, VERY clear and no mistaking I'm having a son. They do say that if your told 'boy' it's more accurate than girl as the bits are just so obvious, by 21 week scan again it was ultra, ultra clear it was a boy.

That said...a friend had a scan and was told boy and gave birth to a daughter!! Mega surprise. I'm in the opinion that you should either bank on a surprise and don't go too mad with pink or blue shopping or have a private scan done, either a standard sexing scan or opt for a 3D/4D scan to be 100% sure.

if u gonna buy clothes buy the ones u can put on both genders. thats what i did then went mental and bought some girlie stuff but not alot lol

mines a suprise really mind set on girl now but if boy i will still love it :)

u not got long to go to find out :)

I had a friend at work who was told her first was a girl, she bought all girls clothes and had a boy. on her second baby she was told it was a boy but had a girl.

My sister was first told she was having a boy and then a girl when pregnant with my niece. Apparently sometimes the umbilical cord can do a decent job of pretending to be boy's bits.

this must be driving you crazy!

i was told by my mdwife when i was pregnant with my son that if the heartbeat sounds like a train to expect a boy and if it sounds more like a horse galloping to expect a girl and mine was like a train. But i think i always knew from the start i was having a boy mainly because mainly all my family are girls

ahahaha I just got an email notification about this reply, and have not been on this forum for months. Must say it confused me a bit lol !

I must say that would do my head in too!!'

If it was me, after asking like that and getting 2 answers, I would just HAVE to know as it would mess with my head the whole pregnancy, so id probably pay for a 4D scan/sexing scan just for a 3rd opinion.

On the other hand whatever is meant to be will be, and you dont really have that long to wait until you will know the result...if you decide not to have the scan just buy white and prepare yourselves for both!
