Is being pregnant what you expected?

I have to say that before I became pregnant I'd kind of just visualised pregnancy to be this really exciting time where I would look and feel healthy, just have a neat little bump and spend my days planning the nursery and mooning over little baby clothes etc. For me the reality so far has been quite different....anxiety over every little symptom, constant fear of MC, feeling chubby and bloated all over, sore BBs, constantly hungry, exhausted, horrid cramping pains and queasiness....

Thinking that perhaps I was a little bit naive!! Don't get me wrong I have good days too but it's not quite the smooth sailing I expected! Maybe once I get into the 2nd Tri things will change but is anyone else feeling a bit overwhelmed? :oooo:

My first pregnancy was great! No morning sickness at all. I had a scare when I bled at around 11 weeks, but apart from getting fat & having the delightful acne caused by hormones it was great!
This time is awful - feel sick constantly, sooooo tired & can't stand the smell of
Pretty much anything, so going out in public is a nightmare as I find myself constantly gagging from all the smells.
Everyone worries, that's normal I guess.
Just enjoy what you can of your pregnancy.

i think its been just what i expected up to now but i didnt expect it to be pretty lol, my mum had a bad time when she was pregnant with her last child with horrendous morning sickness and generally just feeling ill and down so i i think i expected it to be worse than ive found it so far! x

I definately didn't expect to feel so sick ALL day and night, naively I thought morning sickness occurred just like in the films! Also feel exhausted all the time- DH works long hours and haven't seen him for last week cos I'm always asleep after he leaves and before he gets home but still tired all the time.
I really can't wait til Tri 2- I'm looking forward to the blooming thats bn promised!

My pregnancy so far hasn't been what I expected it to be like for the complete opposite reasons to you guys!!

When we got our BFP I really geared myself up to be really sick pretty much straight away.... i'm 7 weeks tomorrow and I haven't felt sick yet!!! All i've had is constant hunger and I keep nearly nodding off every afternoon! Oh and the past few days my boobs have felt like lead weights!!

Reading all of your posts about sickness makes me feel so lucky!! I'm still expecting morning sickness to catch me out eventually though! lol

I really hope you all feel better soon!! :)

Sammy, I'm right there with you on the sickness :(

I don't know exactly what I expected out of early pregnancy, but I definitely didn't expect to feel ill ALL DAY LONG! I also didn't expect to have issues with sleeping this early on. I finally got my first two nights of good sleep this week which is a miracle!

you will start to enjoy pregnancy as soon as that sickness shifts and you get your bump you will enjoy lol

My 1st Pregnancy and birth were fab I loved it so so much but this pregnancy has been nothing but problems to the extent they didnt think the baby would survive and I have been booked in for a section at 36 weeks, but you know what ive still tried to enjoy being pregnant as much as I can

I bet at the weeks between 15 and 30 you love being pregnant then will hate it again cause you wont want to wait another 10 weeks to see your baby lol, we are never happy xx

I hate being pregnant with a passion - I just want to have my daughter. It's horrid. I didn't plan on having a baby so didnt take much time to think about how I thought pregnancy would be, but I tell you I've not enjoyed it at all. I had 18 weeks of morning sickness, backache like you wouldn't believe an now I have a baby under my ribs and it isn't too pleasant! So I'll be perfectly honest with you, it's torture lol!! But I promise you, after about 15 weeks you do actually start to feel human again. You have to remember that a new fetus is sucking what it can out of you, and it doesn't do that all the time. Just in tri 1. I'm very much looking forward to being due :) x

I'm not sure what I expected. I suppose no one knows unless they've been pregnant. I enjoy some aspects of it. But I'm constantly tired, never been this tired in my life, really hope it does shift soon. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow so I hope so. I thought I might be anaemic but my bloods are normal.

With this being my second, i thought i did know what to expect but not everything has been the same. I had different symptoms and different twinges and pains, so even when you have been pregnant before you dont really know what to fully expect x x
