Hello ladies :)

Just wondering if and when the midwife will start doing internals?haven't had any throughout whole pregnancy! Is this normal?

I was told at appointment last week babies head is engaged! :D

Can't wait to meet lo now...begginin to feel like i've been pregnant forever!

Hope everyone is well

:D xx

They wont do a internal until your in labour and want to check how far dialated you are.
The only other reason is that if you go overdue they will do one to check if your effaced etc ir they want to give you a dose of gel.

Thankyou mrs tommo! :D

Am glad of that...hate having people prodding around inside!

I've been expecting it to happen at every appointment! Guess I can relax for now ! :) x

I only had internals at the hospital to see how dilated I was, and at 9 days overdue had a sweep to encourage the labour along. Otherwise, the midwife didn't do anything down there at all :)

I was hoping for one at my last appointment when I was two days overdue, but because I'd had no sign of labour at all she didn't bother. So I'd say you're safe from the wandering hand for a while!

They tried to give me an internal a few weeks ago when I was in hosp, I had pains and they thought baby was coing early

I just couldnt relax for them.

Hiya

the only time i had an internal with Willow was after my waters had broke once to check they had gone then again the put in the gel to induce me and then to check how dialated i was no more after that . The GP just checked my stomach and blood pressure for my post natal check.

My sister has just has one 2 days after due the consultant did a sweep and said she was nowhere near :x

Don't worry about them just think of all the others they have seen

With my first PG I had about 3 internals, so far this- time I've had none

Nope, not had any internals throughout the whole pregnancy so far.
I've got an appointment this Wed where I'll be getting a sweep if baby still hasn't popped. Not looking forward to that.

I only had one at my sweep and when i was in labour to see how much i was dilating :)

My first internal was when I was admitted to the delivery suite. They didnt even do one when I was assessed when my waters broke (24 hours earlier)

The only bit about the C section that is making me feel nervous is having a catheter fitted and a suppository in my bum!
I'm not nervous about being cut open I'm just nervous about them interfering down there!

There not very nice, but there not done routinwly at M/W appointments sao do not panic girls!!

They are not that bad, had a shower with mine  you can actually forget they are there when sitting/lying, it's when you get up to walk about, you gotta carry your pee with you  oh and when they take it out it's just fine too

When I was first pregnant, I had one internal, then I had to have one at my 5 month scan as they couldn't do the whole measuring thingy, so they stuck a camera up me
