i know a lot of babies start smiling at 4 weeks, and a lot dont until after 6. Dylans 5 weeks and not really showing any signs. im not concerned about this as i know its normal but it got me thinking....
Dylan was delivered by section 2 weeks early. does this put him 2 weeks behind? so if a baby was born at full term, they're more likely to do these things that little earlier?
I hope that makes sense.

So Dylans had 2 weeks less growing than a baby born at 40 weeks? or does it not work like that?

youve hit the nail on the head. i have heard that they are behind the amount they were early

So are they ahead if late? Or it doesn't work that way? I have no idea.
LO was nearly 3 weeks late...very smart cookie!

Developmentaly he's the same as a baby born at 40+ weeks as 37 weeks onwards is considered full term.

Molly was 2 weeks early too. She didn't start to smile properly till 6 weeks and they were only little half smiles. It's only this week she's started doing big gummy smiles.
