The amercian family with 17 kids and one on the way.
I'd heard of them, but only came across their website today

http://www.duggarfamily.com/index.html

Fair play to them, the children look happy and well cared for, and the house is very neat, and they don't owe anyone anything.

But ouch, it makes my eyes water to think of giving birth so many times

They are on discovery a lot I think, last time I watched it they were on number 15 I think  Your right though, they have a very close nit family, everything is well organised. The children are polite. The house they ALL built themselves to live in. They don't live on handouts or anything. I really admire them but your right... OUCH!

At that point they talked with a Christian medical doctor and read the fine print in the contraceptives package. They found that while taking the pill you can get pregnant and then miscarry. They were grieved! They were Christians!

WTF?!

I saw their programme on TV... do you think they are running out of names beginning with J?

:rotfl: Jade I was just about to mention all the kids names beginning with J.. is there a Jade? If not email them and suggest it

My mum was one of a family of 16 born in Manchester not that long ago!

And yes, I SO can't understand why you'd want to have 16, especially if you can't look after them properly...

and the mum home schools the kids to ! god.. i dunnow here they fit all teh time in lol.. isnt it their religion to ahve as many children as god blesses?

i just dont see how two parents can give each of thoes kids attention that they deserve? Fair play to them for doing it all on their own though, that house does look amazing!

That house is fabbbbbbb!!!

Whatever they do for a living they must do it hard cos they seem to have the best of everything.

But i agree with Miss.Monroe, how can each child get the attention they deserve, special time with mum or dad???

This bit made me laugh;

Never raise a hand to hit. (But you can raise a hand to punch)
Never raise a foot to kick. (But you can raise a foot to stamp)
Never raise an object to throw. (But you can raise an object to lob)
Never raise a voice to yell. (But you can raise an voice to scream)
Never raise an eye to scowl. (But you can raise an eye to give evils)

Obviously the bits in brackets are my own extras  xx

My grandad grew up in rural Ireland in the 1920's and was one of the youngest of X amount of children.

There were so many he's unsure of exact figures as many had left home to work before he can remember ever meeting them

you'd have to watch you didn't marry one by accident (though where I live there's no "accident" about that sort of thing)

i think they are a bunch of nutters myself. 18 kids! thats mindless. What the fook for????
How the feck can you take care of 18 kids. I saw a documentary about them and they get the older kids to 'buddy up' with a younger kid. Thats just not right. If i did that with my kids i be branded a bad mother letting my older kids care for the younger ones but coz shes had so many its accepted. :x :x :x

I wish the media would stop giving them all the attention.

you think they aren't getting handouts - but how do they get what they have so easily?? they get money from tv programmes etc. Exploiting their kids gets them a gorgeous big house and a huge playground in the garden.

DISGUSTING i say!!!
