Ok goes like this. My nanna died this year just before I got my bfp. And I always said that if I have a girl, then I will middle name her after my nanna.
Now me and OH have two girls names we really love...but Im swaying toward one more than the other, problem is I really dont think it will go with my nans name, as they both end in "IE".
Im feeling really bad now, and can tell my dads a bit upset when I discussed it with him, but do I go with my nannas name or name the bubba the name I really love?

I know it sounds silly but I feel really bad now, wish Id never said anything. It doesnt mean I love my nan any less.
Gawd if this bubs is a boy this will be SO much easier :D

So these are the choices:-

Isla Stephanie (Stephanie is my nannas name)

Or

Evie (probably be Grace as middle name as I love it also)

Evie Stephanie just doesnt sound right does it?

Its doing my head in :(

Hmm i love both the names, How about Evie Grace Stephanie surname?
It breaks up the two "IEs" in a row, it is long but to be fair we never use our middle names that much!
Its up to you hun you don't have to call her after your Nanna, you have your own memories of your Nan and
she is in your heart just because you don't name your daughter after her it doesnt change that! xx

Stephanie is my name but I get called Steph by everyone so maybe that is an option?

Evie Steph is nice. Or maybe she was known by something else that you can use to still honour her?

But don't feel pressured into calling her anything you aren't keen on.

ooh i would go with what fran said its lovely Evie Grace Stephanie surname :D xxxxxx

Not really you don't always write down your full name, i think it sounds lovely!
My sons name is Hayden James Groome-McAspurn...he will have to write that full surname!!
LOL

i dont think its too long lets face it nobody really uses their middle names anyway.
I wanted to name one of my girls after my mum whos name is christine rosemary but we had already decided on Jazmine as a first name so chose Jazmine Christie Rose as her full name which is a shortend version of my mums and my mum was so happy about it, even though my mum has passed away now we still know Jaz was named after her :D

I was going to suggest 2 middle names too. It's not too long at all, we all have 2 middle names in my family!

Evie Grace Stephanie [surname] sounds lovely. (Although I like Isla Stephanie too!).

I agree. It's not too long, cose Evie and Grace are short. It's a bit like what I am trying to convince OH to do at the moment. We are using my grans middle name but it is only one syllable, as is the choice of first name, so I want to put a longer one in the middle. I think you don't often use your middle name anyway, so it's fine.

I think Stephanie sounds lovely with both names and two middle names isn't too many, my mum has three!!

Or you could call her Evelyn Stephanie formally, and just shorten it yourself to Evie :)

I think Evie Stephanie sounds fine! The name will hardly ever be said in full anyway!

I agree! You could call her Evie-Grace Stephanie surname! So Evie-Grace is like one name then stephanie then your surname!! ??

Oh and if you think thats long my first son is called Joseph Nathaniel Peter Mottershead hahaha He loves his long name! And since he had his confirmation (goes to Catholic school) he now tells you his full name of Joseph Nathaniel Peter Leo Mottershead!!

or Eve Stephanie instead of Evie?
Stephanie Eve also nice..

or the 3 name thing (Ryan has 3 - Ryan Zachory Nathanael - for the same sort of reasons).

Though I prefer Isla to Evie anyway as it's less common :)

I think its lovely and not too long. I had the same dilemma with what grand-parents names to use, so i ended up putting all 3 in! Ellen- my mums middle name, Frances- my dads name, and Anne my oh mums middle name! :)

Its not too long lol Evies called Evelyn Angel Suzie lol
