does anyone have it? i havent been properly diagnosed, i am waiting for test results to come back but its starting to get me down now!!! =((

ive been really bad with my stomach ever since we moved back from italy & just presumed it was the change in water and diet and thought nothing of it!

but no... 4 months later and i finally decided to go to see my gp even though OH has been mithering me for ages to go get checked out. ive had blood tests for celiac which im sure im not, and also a stool sample to check..

literally im in the bathroom 24-7, constantly have to wee, bad griping pains, always tired and have no energy, loss of weight, its driving me crazy.

i am hoping its ibs and not something more serious, we have a history of colitis in my family too, been getting myself into a right state thinking it could be some form or bowel cancer or something silly i know but its all i think about im making it worse by reading about stuff online too... grr. all my symptoms fit. just want to know now and hope the gp doesnt fob me off saying i have nothing!

has anyone any advice, or experience? could really use it!! =(( thanksss

I have it, but not severely. Try keeping a food diary to discover your triggers. Also drink a lot of water. There are medications that the doc can prescribe to help ease the symptoms x

Hi hun . I don't have ibs, but I have colitis and some of what u said sounds similar to me before I was diagnosed. Lol I hope it's ibs because they diagnose colitis by colonscopy... Which is pleasant!
Lol the first time, they did a colonscopy and the one down the throat into the stomach on the same day. My charming friend still jokes that I was spit roasted by the nhs. Rank.
Anyway. I freaked myself out before diagnosis too because I have a family history of lots of cancers, including bowel. But no. So far the worst thing about colitis is the bloody regular tube up the butt! X

I have ibs according to my gp but never had any tests. My gp is amazingly rubbish tho! A few yrs back I started doing slimming world and cut out dairy, turns out that was my problem! It had never been consistently after eating dairy so I'd never linked the two. Funnily enough when I got pregnant it went away! I actually craved milk. Unfortunately its back again now :-( once you figure out what triggers it it does get easier to cope with. Not fun tho :-(

I have IBS, and same as Baby Bean it went away during pregnancy! It also gets worse when I get my period so I'm sure it's affected by hormones. I also get it really bad when I'm nervous/excited about something, and when I eat/drink too much dairy.
I actually think the stomach pains I sometimes get with IBS are worse than contractions, and the only thing that makes them go away is to go to the loo. Although it's normally not very pleasant so I don't wanna go in public, which makes the whole thing worse because I'm worrying about it.

Hope you get a diagnosis soon x

The cause of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and Crohn‟s disease (CD) is MAP (Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis) infection. The difference between IBS and CD is the level of inflammation caused by MAP; otherwise they are the same disease.

MAP is also the cause of Johne‟s disease (a severe inflammatory disease of cattle and other animals).

It‟s very well documented that MAP (Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis) has spread to humans, and some studies have found MAP in over 90% of Crohn‟s sufferers and over 70% of IBS sufferers. But the real mystery is how MAP causes disease. That mystery has now been solved: MAP is acidogenic! MAP is an acid producer and functions in a similar, virulent way to Streptococcus mutans, the major cause of tooth decay.
Streptococcus mutans cause tooth decay via two mechanisms:

1. They produce a sticky, extracellular, dextran-based polysaccharide that allows them to stick to each other and tooth surfaces.
2. They produce lactic acid from various sugars including glucose, fructose, lactose which lowers the pH at the tooth surface and causes demineralization of tooth enamel (tooth decay).

Likewise, MAP causes disease by adhering to the intestinal lining and producing organic acid(s) that burn intestinal lining-tissues, leading to various levels of inflammation; from low-grade inflammation found in IBS to gut ulceration as seen in Crohn‟s. Low-grade inflammation found in IBS causes abdominal pain, increased gut sensitivity, bloating and affects normal gut motility (bowel movement) leading to diarrhoea and constipation.
Now let‟s look at the evidence. I think the best way for me to demonstrate the overwhelming and indisputable evidence that MAP is the real cause of IBS and CD, is to ask obvious questions and answer them with relevant links to studies and other resources.
