My best boy and I managed a breastfeed this morning for the first time!!!
Im sooo happy I cried! Since feeling so out of control with every part of his birth when he couldnt breastfeed it felt like the final injustice . Ive refused to give up ever since!
My milk supply has been really slowing down, Im expressing less and less on the pump. I am now working with a specialist breast feeding advisor after she inconvenitenly took 2 weeks annual leave when we were discharged from hospital!
Shes fantastic and the main thing we're working on this week is just getting my supply up to buy us more time. One thing I am making sure I do every day is have some skin to skin.
It was so fantastic this morning. Definately my best moment of motherhood so far! The 3 of us were cuddled up in bed on a lazy sunday morning. The LO had just had his bottle feed so he was calm but he started rooting for my nipple so I moved him to it and he opened his mouth
so I opened his jaw a little further for him and pointed my nipple in his mouth and he took it!!!! I couldnt believe it!! He latched on and sucked for about 10 minutes, and he mustve had a good latch too cos there was no pinching or pain
Just to have a double victory my other boob started leaking at the same time
my boobs havent leaked for at least a week!! in fact, I can feel my boobs trying to make milk as I type this and think about how wonderful it was!!
