mother baby and prenant woman spaces, i have a real job getting in and out the car if i cant open my door wide up, its so annoying as i can be sure to get the pratt who plays 'lets see how close i can park to the car next to me'.
Anyone else feeling this?

yup! When I was preg I nearly knocked someones wing mirror off trying to squeeze me and my bump through!

You should just use it anyway, whos going to argue with a struggling pregnant mummy-to-be? :D

It was like this in Canada when I was there last month. Thought it was a really good idea.

Yep!!!

AND its more difficult for me when we go anywhere in OHs car (which is most of the time - apart from when i go to work!) because its such a low car, i struggle getting in and out of it anyhow nevermind when some chuff has parked RIGHT next to the door

i dont know about a mirror but i was close to knocking someones head off today, the car next to me was so stupidly parked and whats worse was the bloke was sat in it watching me struggle, i squeezed my way in loudly calling him a prick but he was so bloody ignorant he didnt even offer to move a bit

When I am bigger I can promise you that I will be using them! The other day I under-estimated the size of my bump and tried to squeeze in between two park cars and practically got wedged! :rotfl:

I think they should just make spaces wider, or have an idiots section! I went to Asda today and couldn't even get in my door, i was the driver!!! This car parked so close to me that i had to squeeze into my seat AFTER ramming my door into his car and pressing on it to make some room! Unfortunately i made no real damage that he'd notice! I was mad as i'm one little woman!

I parked the far side of our supermarket car park when 8 months pregnant. No one near by. Went into the store, came out 30 minutes later and some arse in a huge Audi had parked so close to the white line I could not open the door more than 4 inches. 4 sodding inches.

I had to wait until the guy parked in the row across came back and he was so thin he could climb over the passenger side and move my car forward enough so I could get in :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

And don't even get me started on the mother/baby parking. Kids who are old enough to do up their own seatbelts and only needing booster seats don't count as a needing their parent to park in the larger spaces. I've only been able to use the parent parking twice since Galen was born as most times its taken up by people with kids over the age of 5 :wall:

i did park in them and got loads of abuse off a man with two kids
one about 10, and another of about 7, i did need the space more than them
it REALLY annoys me when people who arent pregnant and dont have children park in them

I think i may take this further ladies, i will start by going in to see the manager and then write a ltter to my local MP :D

I have started parking in them since my due date as technically my baby should be here by now :D Haven't had any comments although what rational person would try to tell me that I can't park there, I need more room getting in a parking space.

There was a thread on here a while ago about about Asda parent and baby spaces being for heavily pregnant woman too. To be honest I wouldn't bother trying to take it further, you are still a parent even if you haven't given birth yet. I do think that unless you have a big bump, you're taking the piss if you try and park in the spaces but so long as people are sensible, there shouldn't be any complaints.

i have to completly disagree with you.. although i have a baby and a 5 year old. if i didnt have ted i would probably still park in the parent and child bay. you cant trust the idiots who speed around the carparks.. noone is looking for children. they are only looking for a space. personally i would rather someone think bad of me rather then get my little girl knocked over.

I would also add, that if someone is using parent and baby/child space without actually having a baby/child in a sight, or not being a pregnant woman with a maternity certificate or very visible bump, should be fined!! Like if you park at disabled space - you get fined! I think they should do it with our spaces as well!

wasn't there something in the paper about this. A pregnant women parked in a mother and toddler space and got fined???? poor women , she was massive and obviously needed the extra space to get in and out

What!! that is ridiculous, poor woman, maybe when we go for a 20 week scan or something we should be issued with a sticker for the car but instead of a wheelchair it should be a lady with a bump so we can use the mother and child parking facility.

What also really annoys me is when old people park in the spaces. Yeah they might have a disabled badge but if we parked in their spaces they'd soon have something to say!

Well i think i just about topped it yesterday, there was an open back truck park diagonally across 2 mum and child spaces when i went to get my son from work ( i was parked opposite watching) out came to workmen with their take away coffees, jumped in and drove off, they were there for a good 10 mins.

I think in tescos you can park in the mum and baby spaces if you are pregnant, showing or not. When i was expecting tia i used to park in them all the time as they were original tescos baby and toddler club spaces and pregnant women are allowed.
