I have the same reasons - I'm 33 and just started on patches a week ago and I'm now grumpy with spots and eating like a horse :( I have two lovely lo's now and not planning any more.

They're great! Very effective, don't have to think about it. Not painful to fit (for me anyway), easy to take out when you want to ttc and if you get the non hormone one you can fall pregnant immediately after removal. I wouldn't have anything other than the coil now xx

Thanks cosmic! What about periods were they much heavier or painful? x

I had one for a little while but it wasn't for me in the end . It was fine to fit , just a little pinch I had light bleeding for a week after and then no periods at all . Very simple and easy as you don't have to worry about it x

I've got a coil fitted. A little bit uncomfortable to fit but easily bearable. I have been bleeding lightly since it was fitted though, however doc said this should all settle by 2 months.

XX

thanks cosmic Im having the non hormonal after this lo because they all send me funny and love that it lasts 10 years!! xx

Is this the one that is inserted in your arm? Been looking at possible implants etc as can't take the pill because wanting to BF.

no its implanted in your cervix the arm one has hormones although you can have the Minnie pill and bf x

I have the mirena coil, iv had it for 12 weeks now! No problems here. Was painless getting put in. Iv had bo problems at all. My Oh can't feel it. I bled a little for a few weeks after but it was very light, and I had 2 periods but they seem to have stopped now. So far so good I'm really happy with it. The doctor advised me that it was a good choice of contraception if you are between children, as it affects your fertility the least xxx
