Okay now this girl keeps running her fingers through her hair and scratching her scalp, then biting those nails, like she's eating something. I guess she's just gross in general.

Sorry about this. It has nothing to do with pregnancy or anything, but ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH. I have this thing about chewing sounds, to the extent where I am considering getting hypnotherapy for it sometime after the baby is born. I get physically ill and ANGRY when people make very loud eating noises. I can take crunching to an extent, but only when people keep their mouths closed. Well, in the office a couple of weeks ago that topic came up and I mentioned how bad I am about this. I told them how I have to stop eating if I accidentally make any sounds. Ever since then, the girl next to me has been eating SO LOUDLY! I want to throw something at her! It's making me so angry! It's not in my head... I'm not the only one to notice it. She's nice but it's like she is doing it completely on purpose. She is currently eating an apple and I SWEAR my horses didn't eat apples like this! :wall:

Thanks, rant over!

(PS Is anyone else here like this?)

probably not as bad as you but I really do hate noisy eaters, and people who eat with their mouths open :puke: :puke:

I'd have to move away from her every time she ate I'm afraid....... :x

Thats so funny! I am exactly the same! It actually makes me want to scream!

I am sorry, but :rotfl:

I know this is serious though...And it angers me if people persist in something to annoy.

Maybe embarrass her and ask if her eating has to always come complete with sound effects??

I am 100% with you on this, it makes me violently angry, my OH wont even sit with me when he eats now as I get so angry he's too scared! And at work there are two people who eat loudly and would sort of suck their food and talk with it in their mouths and I would literally have to put my finger in my ear or just leave as I would sit there getting so angry I was scared I'd actually attack them! It drives me mad its just so annoying Im so glad im on mat leave now as I really couldnt of taken much more!!xx

you could start humming 'It's feeding time at the zoo' very loudly.......

I feel your pain- I suffer pretty badly from this too. I have done since I was a child, I couldn't sit at the table with my brother because he made noises. More recently my boss in work, who sat next to me used to chew gum and it was the noisiest sick making noise EVER. It gets me so wound up :x

If I were you I'd have to kill that girl, it's the only way

oh, i hear you. Some eating noises make me squirm. Its only sometimes but if dh and I get to eat on our own (hardly every happens) then it drives me bonkers

I can see it from both sides.

On the one hand, i ALWAYS eat with my mouth closed, yet Dave used to make comments about me eating loadly, it upset me so much i became scared to eat around him. Now if he says anything i just put the food down and will walk away. So to some people, even though they are eating properly it's not nice to complain.

However meal times are a nightmare in my house, my sister is awful, she stares at my brother as he eats and if he makes any noise she screams at him! I must admit he is quite loud, and he doesnt close his mouth half the time, he make a "Hamph" noise as he bites down, and he's always in a rush. Then when he's finished he starts going on at you to hurry up so he can eat dessert. when we were out on Sunday he was up paceing trying to get me to finish my icecream quicker

Yay I am so happy to have people in my company! :D I'm not unreasonable... I worked as a nurse assistant until fairly recently and some of the patients just couldn't help it. That didn't bother me, even when feeding them, unless the food looked especially vile. Also, my cats chew like pigs and I am okay with that. :rotfl:

HOWEVER when you can control it and just don't bother.... IT IS JUST RUDE!!! I'm so mean, though. The other day she was chomping away on mint gum and then she started peeling an orange. I knew what was coming. As soon as she (loudly) bit into the orange, she nearly spat it out because of the combination with the mint. HA HA it was pretty satisfying! :D

Poor you. I know how you feel. Although it doesn't make me feel ill, hearing other people eat REALLY annoys me. Even worse, when they are on the phone still half chewing I think it's so rude.

Um I am really sorry about this because I know how gross it is...

:puke: I used to have constant arguments with my dad at work becuase he would stand over my desk and slurp his tea :puke: !!!!

LOL I am the same - it makes me violently angry and feel sick if someone makes those HORIBLE noises when eating. Ive suffered from this for years....I used to avoid sitting at the table with my family as it would make me want to erupt!!

I used to work with a girl who ate like a hog! Hideous...dirty...bad mannered...makes me feel irritated just thinking about her! :x

I'm a bit bad about this, I get annoyed very quickly and once I am that noise is the only thing I can hear. I can't stand anyone eating with their mouths open.

DH is very very funny about, he won't eat dinner with certain people and also won't come to the cinema because someone people can't eat popcorn!

Oh my lord Moss!! If you want to PM I'm more than happy to do so! I went to Hypnotherapy last August for a similar problem. I used to get put off my food SO badly. We couldn't talk at dinner because if someone said "ooh pardon me" I'd think of a burp, then sick etc... I just got really put off and it would make me angry too...

The lady was great. She didn't hypnotise me as such, just put me in a "hypnotic state" and delves really deep. Anyway, it took me about 2 months when one day I was sitting eating my lunch when I looked in the garden and saw one of my dogs sniffing the other one's bum and carried on eating my sandwich :rotfl: I was so proud of myself lol!

Anyway, yeah, if you ever want to PM, you know where I am! xx

I get put off food really easily too. But it is more finding stuff in my food that does it. Just thinking about finding a hair in my food makes me feel sick :puke:

I get self conscious about eating in front of people as my jaw sometimes clicks as I eat - due to car accident from years ago. I would probably annoy the hell out of loads of you  :D

 Me too! I used to sit opposite a girl who used to eat several packs of crisps a day and the crunching noise used to drive me crazy to the point where I wanted to stuff erasers in my ears.. on top of that though the grossest bit was that when she'd finished she'd lick all her fingers and then go about her job touching everything in the office.... eurgh..... :puke:
