I know this is a peronsal question..but how often did you BD to become pregnant...every day during your fertile period, every other day? We only managed to bd once before my fertile period and then on the dya that my LH was first detected - is there any point in getting my hopes up? We have tried previously every day, every other etc so manybe this will work??? What did you do? Driving me nuts!!!!!!!

Hi Julia,
Did you read about the research that was published last week on fertility? Seemingly it's best to have sex every two days if you want to get pregnant. It used to be recommended that people forgo having sex for five days as frequency weakens the sperm but the experts are now saying this isn't good. My friend who has had two miscarraiges asked her specialist this question and was told that you can have sex everyday. If the sperm is weak it's weak frequency of sex isn't going to help or hinder.
Does that help?

Twice a day for nearly 2 weeks. I was knackered but it worked first month

Bl**dy hell Rosie!!!! Your other half must have been gutted it happened first month

We tried on days 13, 14 15 & 16. We were very lucky in that we also conceived after the first month.

Good luck

LB xx

We tried every day for the 'crucial' week for 3 months, then I was scheduled for an operation and stopped trying, maybe did it once a week during June.........hey presto.........I got BFP last week and had to cancel my op!!!

People always said it would happen when we stopped trying which I thought was stupid................until now!!!

one in the whole month  we went self employed in April and with all the stress never imagined falling straight away, never mind finding the time to actually 'try'. Maybe 'not trying' does work

I'd been diagnosed with PCOS so I didn't really think there was much chance of me 'falling' pregnant without lots of planning. After coming off the pill we made sure not to get me pregnant until I'd had a couple of periods and then just carried on as normal. We didn't worry about timing or lying still for half an hour after sex or anything and when people asked if we were trying I kept saying 'well we're not doing anything to prevent it, but we're not exactly trying.' So I was somewhat flabberghasted to find I was pregnant after just a couple of months. I'm still not quite sure I believe it ;o)

So, yeah, I beleive that not trying is the way to go. And you hear so many stories of people who tried for years and then gave up and adopted or splashed out on flash cars or extravagent holidays and then 'bingo!'

Well we were just on holiday and decided to have ONE go without protection and here I am pregnant!!!

Well we were on our honeymoon   :D :D :D .

Despite me having a stinking cold, which would normally put us off, we were determined to carry on with BD regardless, as we both knew that it was a fertile week and that we had planned to hopefully conceive whilst on our honeymoon.

So we did it loads and it happened. On a normal week we probably wouldn't have managed it quite so much.
