LOL people just collect them like any kind of doll. People have collected porcelain dolls for years havent they? This is just the most modern type of doll but because they look so real some people think that nutters buy them lol and to be fair I know there are some nutters out there that treat them like real babies but the majority just apprieciate the art xxxxxx

I have to admit though, they freak me out! I was at a craft fair and a lady had one on her stall modelling the baby clothes she makes and it made my skin crawl!

Helen, Alot of people are totally freaked out by them lol, I take it as a huge compliment if mine freak people out cos it means they look real lol x

They arent for everybody, but i LOVE making them, I can make them from home and it gets me a bit of pocket money so its perfect xx

Tiny, I 1st started reborning after seeing a programme called "My fake Baby" and there was a woman who made them from home (they werent very good though) I was looking for a hobby, I LOVE babies and thought I'd give it a go. It was expensive starting out, buying all the paint, brushes etc... and I made my 1st reborn March 2008 and sold it on ebay for £84 and was over the moon LOL, well I have carried on and improved with each one and now 38 babies on I am finally getting decent money. It does take 3 weeks to make one though so I dont earn anywhere near minimum wage, but i LOVE it so I dont care.
They are made from vinyl, like a play doll and when they come to me they look like plastic and I paint them root their hair (i hair at a time- this is a 40 hour job) then I weight them so they feel real in your arms, then I photo them and sell them xxx

OMG my sister paid £400 for one to be made and to be specially painted (if thats how their made) to look like her deceased son when he was a baby.....now that is something to really freak you out!

I personally dont llike them as Im terrified of any kind of soft toy or doll as my older siblings once locked my in a big bo and ripped all my dolls armsa and legs off as a kid so its always freaked me out ha but those who make them are very tallented and I do think they look amazingly real.....well done Mrs xxx
