Basically my nan was in hospital for a month she came home thurs, I haven't been visiting her coz her ward got shut down this past week for an outbreak of it. My mum didn't even go see her incase she got it an passed it to me. But the my mum called the hospital an explained about me, they said once she's been home 2 nights an has had no symptoms then she's clear an I'm good to go see her.

Went to see her yesterday afternoon didn't actually kiss her an was very careful. But it started 3.30am... It's awful and uncontrollable from both ends (sorry tmi) it's just not letting up. I rang the out of hours doc an she asked loadsa questions, said its norovirus, it won't harm baby unless I get dehydrated, so I'm forcing dioralite down my neck and on her advice flat coke bit not for long. She got a nurse to keep ringing every so often to check on me an kept asking if I have any extra discharge, bleeding or a rash... Because also in the hospital is some bug called c.difficile. Just wondering if anyone had this in pregnancy before can give me any more advice? Feel like a zombie... As for the cramps well I think my hopes for as little pain relief in labour are out the window. If someone could have given me an epidural 4am I'd happily have had one.

Sorry for another essay. I can still feel bump wrighling away by the way. Xxx

Awww hun that sounds awful, you poor thing! I've never had it but work in a hospital and from what I've heard Novovirus is just a sickness and diarhohea bug but C - Dificile is a more serious infection like MRSA....totally different things. Really hope you feel better soon....as for drugs in labour, bring em on I say!! xxx

Oh blimey - that sounds awful...:(
In dont know anything about it im afraid, but as long as you are keeping hydrated, and baby is still happy, then you are doing well. I would imagine its one of those things that ou need to get out of your system, rather than just treat it.
I hope the maternity units are kept free of all that kinda stuff!
x

Hope you feel better soon!

For me the thought of all the horrible bugs, viruses and infections you can pick up in hospital is more scary than the thought of the actual labour!

Xx

I know, most of the hospital has been shut because of it. She said from the sounds of it it's not the c.diff thing coz it's usually brought on if u have been on antibiotics or something also coz I haven't actually been to the hospital for a few weeks an my nan had norovirus not c.diff. I know what u mean about hospital bugs, I was a bit worried about them asking me to go to a&e, it's really worrying all the stuff u can pick up.

Think it has just gotta be flushed out, she told me to take paracetamol for cramps but it's not done anything. So glad that oh has 2weeks off work before his course starts, he's like a little maid! Thanks everyone, I'm gonna try go to sleep xxxx

ah sorry to hear this hun. sounds horrible. hope you feel better soon. xxx

Oh hun I hope your better soon!!! Hugs x x x

Sorry to read that :( I worked in mental health and they got it there a lot, basically its sickness and diarrhoea with chronic pain and its horrid. Keep drinking fluids and get rest. I hope you get better soon xx

Oh babe that sounds terrible! Get well soon! xx

aww hun hope your ok i didnt go to my anti natal app because of it alot of the wards have been closed to visitors and stuff hope they get it all under control before we next have to be there xxx

Oh I hope you get better soon, nothing worse than being ill and then being pregnant on top of that is even worse.

Hey guys I'm feeling much better. Just had a bit of toast and was only up a few times through the night. It's just mainly the aching now, think I must have used muscles I didn't even know existed! Thanks for asking everyone xx

Midnight- Yeah that's why I hadn't been to visit my nan I'm not listening to the hospital again, she obviously still had some of the bug to be able to pass it on! I've had a letter today from the physiotherapy people to ring an book an appointment about my hips. I'm gonna wait for a bit and when i do ring explain to them coz I really don't wanna pick anything else up.

Xxxx

i recieved a new appointment today for the 5th of april im dreading it coz you are always in there for hours

Glad you're a little better today Heidi....stomach muscles are so stretched anyway in pregnancy so no wonder you're aching!! xx

Aw Heidi get well soon! It's vile! I was in hospital over Xmas with it, I was already being treated for dehydration because of my hyperemisis :( I know it's just an infection but my god it is terrible, they gave me gas & air the pain was that bad! All it did tho was make me puke more so I think I'll be giving that a miss in labour lol.
I honestly thought I was going to die I couldn't even have rehydration sachets as any little sip of water was coming back out projectile & ten fold the amount i'd even put in! God knows where it all came from!
Any way don't worry about baby at all, it doesn't get passed through to them it's just u that suffers & if u get really bad where u are keeping nothing down ring the labour ward they will give u a drip to rehydrate u.
I'm obsessed with germs now, always using sanitising gel & scrubbing everything lol x

It is vile your right, I very nearly convinced myself at one point I was going into labour! I was saying to rob I haven't packed my suitcase yet!! I'm just glad most of it seems to be over, think I must have got a bit dehydrated Or something coz I was talking about feeding elves wine gums at tesco apparently!!! Haha, weird or what! I've actually dreamt about that before around Xmas.

Think I might end up obsessed with germs now, I'm petrified of picking it up again! Xxx
