Some women poop when giving birth, I know this, I'm not worried as I won't be able to do anything about it but.......

I want a water birth and getting worried I'll have floater in the pool with me!!!!!!!

Awww!
I never had a water birth, but many women on the forum have and they said sometimes you don't even notice it because the MWs quickly scoop it away with a sieve (sp?).
I know when I was in labour I was sure I was pooping but I was too pre-occupied with other things I didn't care. Turns out I wasn't..it was just the baby going down. You may not either!!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I absolutely love you Hazel!!

:rotfl:

We lose so much dignity with pregnancy and labour, I'm sure a little addition in the birthing pool won't worry you too much  xxx

Midwifes are dab hands with a sieve

I had a water birth and I pooped , in the end I was saying Ohh, I've pooped a bit more better get the sieve :rotfl:

LOL! I've also thought I won't care if I poop on the bed but hadn't thought about the birthing pool! I'm sure they'd be very professional!! I hope.

I had a birth pool and although did not actually deliver in it, did use it for a long while during contractions. I never pooped in it so the sieve never saw any action

Mind you, I never pooped at all during labour :cheer: I did however lose control of my bladder on a few occasions :wall: But not in the pool :rotfl:

Ah don't worry, dignity goes out the window anyway... floaters are just an integral part of that :cheer:

i didnt with my first, but i did with my 2nd. thing was, i knew i needed to go with my 2nd, but i couldnt!

i'm not too worried about pooing. i'm more worried incase its runny and smells really bad

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Haha
I've literally laughed out loud at that peter has just said "WTF" cause i was laughing so much.
nothing like a bit of toilet humour. :D

That's what the sieve is for. Believe me, its normal and you won't even care.

I keep telling OH the sieving will be his job  :rotfl:

Pooing when pushing, though normal, is a phobia of mine

Glad it did not happen with Ty. Due to SPD, I will be standing up again....so it may plop to the floor or run down my leg     :rotfl:

I keep getting visions of the midwife chasing the poo around the pool with a sieve and me panicking if it starts floating near me :puke: .

Don't stress about it because when the time arrives I doubt very much you will.

Oh God - I have given this (probably too much) thought. I have told OH that it is the sort of thing I NEVER need to know about. Ever. Never Ever. Even if I am smug about not doing it. It worries me more than the thought of pain or tearing. I hope what everyone says is true and I won't care when it comes to it...

You won't, you really won't. Dignity goes right out the window and things like that don't even cross your mind tbh.
