Last night I thought I had arrived at the long awaited end...I am still here. I just had a sweep and it was uncomfortable. The midwife said that my cervix was vedry posterior?? What does this mean?
This means that your cervix is back behind the babys head. as u go into labour your cervix will come forward.
I had a sweep when i was overdue and my cervix was prosterior, the sweep did not work and i was induced in the end.
Sorry to see you're still here (in the nicest way possible!).
I've been reading up on the net about this stuff, I can't actually feel my cervix so i'm assuming mine's also posterior, meaning its not quite ready for labour, when it is it moves to the anterior position & faces the birth canal, if that makes sense.
I get the impression that sweeps will only work if your body is practically ready for labour itself anyway, the same goes for all these other methods for inducing labour (other than going into hospital i.e having a hot curry etc) if we are ready then it'll happen if not then it won't not that its stopped me from trying all these sorts of things! just incase.
I guess only time will tell if its worked hun. Good luck & my fingers are tightly crossed for you
You have been such great support! You must be the sort of person everyone would like to have as a friend.
I have been having the same crampy contractions again tonight the average being 15 minutes apart - BUT I AM IGNORING THEM (OR TRYING TO) BECAUSE THEY ARE JUST TEASING ME. I am fed up of writing the same thing!! I spoke to a friend today who is at the same stage as me who is also nearly pulling her hair out due to so many false signs!!!
I think when we both eventually have the babies we will be able to hear each other sigh with relief as they enter the world!!!
Bless you hunny. Its no problem at all. I do feel for you, it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo annoying having all these signs & things happening but still no baby at the end of it.
I would say hang in there but you don't really have much choice!!
I'll listen out for you sigh of relief tonight and hope you post us with some fab news sooner rather than later.xxxxxx
