Stretch and sweep

Just got back from midwife where I had a sweep. According to her my cervix is still posterior and 1 cm long.

Can anyone tell me what this means? I have got the feeling that this does not bode well for me and I'll probably end up going in for induction which is booked for next Monday.

Not sure about the cervix thing... maybe the sweep will help!

So your hospital will do your induction on a Bank Holiday? Mine's been booked for 29th - after the Bank Hols.

To be honest, I think it's difficult to read anything into this kind of stuff as things can change really quickly.

I had a sweep today too. My cervix was also posteria and 1cm long. I'm sure 1cm long is ok, it starts at about 4 I think. When I read my notes afterwards, it said I was 1-2cm dilated too! We got excited about that, but when we Googled when we got home, it seems that it doesn't really mean anything, people can be up to 4cm dilated for weeks apparently.

I'm trying to relax and concentrate that things are heading in the right direction - just wish they would hurry up!
