Well I met my named midwife today (ok a little late on but circumstances haven't been auspicous for us meeting so far) and found out that she is very very very pro home birth and sooooo friendly but she's also the only natal hypnotherapist (British version of hypnobirthing) in the north east!!!!!! I am so so so lucky x

That's fab news hon :yay: Good for you having a home birth- I am not brave enough to try that.

Annie-I wouldn't have had a home birth with my first but cos he's my second I'm more confident in what my body can do and I know what I'm in for (vaguely) lol x

That's great news Helen! Must be a relief to speak to someone who will fully support everything you'll go through xx

Wow, that's great. I am going to use hypnobirthing for my labour so will be really interested to know how you get on with the UK equivalent. ALso to meet a mw you don't need to explain yourself to must be great!

I can't even express how happy and excited I am to know that she's going to support me all the way x she's given me the website and has said that I can email her from there and she'll put me in touch with people who have done the course and are willing to share their experiences! I feel on cloud 9 at the minute! She's currently trying to get backing to start classes in Middlesbrough and the head if midwifery up here is behind her so hopefully sometime soon there'll be classes here (currently you have to go to Newcastle) though it'll be after Seb arrives it's still exciting x

yayyy for the home birth Helen, I can't believe your now 30 weeks! arghhh so exciting

Thats really good news :) very brave having a home birth but its great knowing your midwife is very positive about home births :) x

I don't feel 'brave' more confident in my body's ability to cope with something so natural x obviously I'm going to listen to the advice I'm given by the midwives and if need be transfer to hospital x

Helen im doing hypnobirthing too! Have you done a course ? im about to finish my last session next week. I would like a home birth but not sure at the mo as its my first baby. x

I've not done the course as it's in Newcastle and a bit of a trek plus no childcare but the cd's are great! And I've also ordered a book x if anyone is interested in what the differences are between natal hypnotherapy and hypnobirthing the natal hypnotherapy website has a compare/contrast table-www.natalhypnotherapy.co.uk
