Anyone else suffering or suffered??

This is my second HG pregnancy and definitely my worst. Almost 20 weeks and still vomiting every day. I’m on the highest dose of anti sickness I can be, and although it’s helping (I’m not vomiting anywhere near as many times as I was at the start), I’m still being sick daily. Currently awake after being sick, literally coming out my nose and peeing myself for the second time today  I’m so so fed up. I’ve been hospitalised throughout the pregnancy, the last time was just 2 weeks ago and I needed 8 bags of IV fluids to reduce my ketones and 2 days in hospital to feel ‘better’. I’m desperately hoping not to end up back in but I know I’m headed there again :( the consultant told me just to eat, eat anything I can, even if I vomit, it’s better than no food at all. I’m trying but it touches my stomach and I instantly feel sick.

This is most definitely my last pregnancy, I’d never go through this again. But it’s making me incredibly sad that I’m wishing it away and I’ll not look back on it at all fondly :(

I’ve been off work for a couple of months now and because I do permanent 12.5 hour night shifts, I don’t have a clue how I’ll get back when I still feel this dreadful.

This turned into a rant/moan. But can anyone relate and tell me I’m not awful for feeling so down about being pregnant? I wanted and love this baby completely but my god it’s hard xx

I totally relate with the puking so violently you pee. I remember that, not fun! Which anti-sickness meds are you on? There are 3 and so if it isn't working for you can you change to another? I hope it passes soon.

I had horrible HG my second pregnancy!!! It’s awful and hard to get through it but we are so strong and with great determination you’ll get there!!! I would drink Gatorade to keep my electrolytes up or pedialyte!!! Also would start my days with crackers!!! Small small bits of Light foods OR grab either a bunch of vegetables or fruits blend them up and whenever you can down a drink I’d try drinking that!!! Sometimes turning your food into liquid will help @MrsS15

I feel you on this although yours sounds a lot worse than mine!! I am 31 weeks and also have HG and have been vomiting multiple times a day for weeks. I’m lucky I can keep fluids down and the tablets for me have started letting me keep some food down although I was sick a few times yesterday. I do agree with Bre liquid food is a massive help.

I suffered 2 losses before this pregnancy so the fact I’m getting fed up makes me feel so guilty. It’s normal to be tired and over being sick so much! I’m sure, like me, you still enjoy and appreciate your baby moving and being healthy it’s the sickness that your down about!! Xxx

So sorry for the late reply ladies. I never got a notification :( thank you so much for replying!

@Abi88 I’m on ondansatron and cyclizine. I first tried prochloperazine at the start of my last pregnancy and took an awful reaction to it so bypassed it this time. The ondansatron definitely helps reduce the amount I vomit but doesn’t help the nausea :( the peeing is awful. I try and force myself to pee every hour or two just to try and avoid the many accidents :wall2:

@Bre thank you!! I keep telling myself I survived my last HG pregnancy but this one is definitely worse. By this point with my last I was vomiting every few days and wasn’t always nauseous. I’m still puking every day and the nausea isn’t easing. All I can drink is water too. Eating little amounts and often definitely helps though!

@Aprilxxx sorry you’re still suffering too. It’s so hard. I’ve beat myself up something rotten too. I had HG in my last pregnancy and he was IVF after two miscarriages too, I felt awful for the feelings I had. This baby has been a little miracle and again, Ive felt awful for feeling so low. It’s so hard but you’re absolutely right, it’s the vomiting and illness getting you down, the happy healthy baby keeps you going!

Thank you again for your replies. I’ll give the liquid food a go. 21 weeks today and struggling to see an end in sight. It’s draining me so badly! Xx
