Is this normal? Keyan will be 5 weeks on saturday and he is on sma (yellow one) he takes about 5 oz every feed but im still thinking this isnt enough for him as he is constantly chewing his fingers afterwards. I tryed him with extra hungry but it wasnt any good as he was just constantly sick with it and it was making his poos really hard and making him constipated all the time. What I am asking is should i keep him on 5 oz or change his milk because i dont think i should up his milk anymore as i think 5 oz is alot for being 5 weeks old.

I had the same issue when Paige was around that age! I just offered 6oz to be honest. She very rarely took 6oz but it was just a teenie bit more that she wanted. Then at some feeds she would only have 4/5oz. Is he on 4 hourly feeds or 3...or even demand feeding? As I changed Paige to a 3 hourly routine around this time which worked better and she had smaller amounts at each feed. I deffinatly think its worth offering it though and youll soon see if he needs it of just fancies nibbling his hands :D x

well i was going to offer him it but i thought 6oz at 5 weeks old was a little too much but i will defo try him with that. well it varies to be honest sometimes he wakes up screaming every 3 hours then other times i try hold off until 4 hours it just depends when he wants it really but i dont think the 5 oz is satisfying him.

Apparently babies only eat what they need so dont worry about over feeding. :) I bet he just wants that extra few ml though and he wont take the whole extra oz. Paige is 12 weeks tomorrow and just had a 10oz bottle and shes probably around 11lb now and she was on 5/6oz bottles at about 6 weeks. I wouldnt worry, every babies different and some babies like ours are a big fan of the milk :D

Charleys on 4oz's at 8 days old so you upping keyan's feeds should be fine! I tried Lacey on sma hungry baby and shegot badly constipated!
