My baby is 25 days old now and I'm breastfeeding but not exclusively as I have to give him top-ups of formula. My OH and I started having sex again 18 days after the birth and it happened quite a few times since then, but we used no contraception because it wasn't planned at all and also because we thought it was still too early to get pregnant... do you think it is really risky? I intended to wait for the 6 week check to take the pill again but it's in a couple of weeks from now... considering that I can't stand condoms :x do you think I can take the mini-pill sooner than 6 weeks?

theoretically you are ok to 6weeks IF you exclusively breastfeed but even that is not 100% and if you don't want another pregnancy at the moment you really should use contraception - minipill can be used pretty much straight away - please make an appointment to see your doctor to discuss this and be aware that although it is very unlikely - you could already be pregnant again...

i know people who have fallen more or less straight away- as soon as they had stopped bleeding! you are also more fertile after having a baby
so be really careful- i was offered the pill straight away to take on the first day of my 1st period nut i'm not sure about the mini-pill..maybe talk to the nurse or HV about contraception and what best for you.
