lukes first shoes lasted him about 5 months, but i get him measured about every 2 months now when i think his feet look like they are getting near the end of his shoes i take him to be measured and when they tell me hes gone up a full size will get him a new pair. he has only had one pair at a time up til now but when i his size may get him one nice pair from clarkes and then go on the internet and get him a bit cheaper pair also.
Once my son was walking confidently (about 12 months) we went to get his feet measured and bought Clarks for his first shoes. Personally I think its really important when their feet are still so small and developing, to have correctly fitted shoes. We had him measured once every 6-8 weeks for about a year after the first pair and on average he went up a whole size every 2-3 months. We only ever bought one pair at once though and they seemed to last really well.
Now he is 3 though and becoming a typical little boy, running and climbing everything, he has got several different types of footwear. We still buy him one good pair of Clarks but on the whole he wears trainers/boots if he is just playing outside. He scuffs his shoes up so quickly now its a waste to let him play in the good ones!
we buy all our kids shoes at clarks as they fit/ last really well. they say you should get them checked every 6-8 weeks , doesn't neccessarily mean they will need new shoes that often tho, they will happily check the growing room in the shoes they have and let you know if they think they will last a bit longer.
