How often do you eat at the dining table?

I keep saying we're going to eat at ours but it's always covered in crap, and only cleared for dinner parties or Christmas/Easter really.

We sit in front of the TV and Stanley has a little plastic table. It's tough to make him sit and eat though, and I think a proper routine would help him sit still for longer. But we don't always eat together :?

What's your routine?

we don't currently have one, we where planning to get one for xmas, but my nan and grandad have just put theirs in their garage and have said that we can borrow it.

Its one that folds up and the chairs fold up.

At mums, we used the table for holidays and sunday lunch. also when my bro and sister where younger they used it to do things on - draw, paint etc. I want the same for alice! At the moment we sit and eat off our laps (apart from alice who sits at her little table and chair). i would love to be able to sit around and have a nice meal. esp when people come around for dinner.

minxy we are exactly the same  keep saying we are all going to start eating at table but never happens xxxxxxxx

We only have like a breakfast bar shaped table thing which seats 2 people, so we never eat as a family.

We sit in front of the TV. I make the kids tea about 4.30pm - 5pm and then me and OH have ours when he gets in from work at about 6pm.

I'd love to sit round a table and have our meals together but we've had the same routine for so long that we're used to it :)

We've just got a new dinning table and chairs and we all sit and eat at it. Its lovely sitting together, we used to use the breakfast bar but the table is much better :D And Isaac sits really nicely so hopefully it will put him in practice for eating out when we go on holiday in a few weeks

I would love to have the room for a table. Had one in the last place we lived and used it everyday but it was in the front room so could see the telly anyway. Didn't really want to watch DH eating with his mouth open every day. :puke:

Looking for somewhere with a dining room when we move.

I even went out and bought all new dinning stuff and a posh toast rack. I even put toast in it just for me  I'm such a ponce :D

The kids all sit at the table for every single meal. I'd say me and OH sit with them about 5 times a week. It used to be everyday but since I've been on a diet I sometimes have a different meal to the kids.

I always sit at the table. Always have since I remember, eating off our laps in front of the TV was a treat! And we always eat sunday breakfast round the table :D

we eat at the table every night & for every meal :moon: the kids get mess all over the carpet other wise!

We always sit at the table, always have. We've never been allowed in the living room with a meal...

I hope I will do the same for Evie. Whenever I have been round a friend's house and they eat in their living room on the couch it feels SOOO wierd. I don't know how to sit, it's uncomfortable, it just doesn't feel "right" to me because we've never done it.

Also, we have dogs and there is nothing worse (IMO) than sitting down on a sofa with a dog sniffing near your plate while you're trying to eat :puke: xx

before emily was around it was almost always, but now for space reasons the dinning table is shoved out of the way :( i miss it loads.
BUT me and the OH are loooking at moving, and had a little bit of news today all in the right direction....    - much bigger house, so ill have plenty of space to start using it again :D

When I lived at home we always ate at the table we would very rarely be allowed to eat in the sitting room unless there was something we wanted to watch that was only on the once and mum and dad would still sit in the kitchen table and eat theirs then they got a little tv in the kitchen so we had no excuse.

Now its just me and Anthony we sit and eat on the sofa when Pips older though we will be eating from a table I find it hard eating off my lap now let alone what I would of been like when I was about 6! Hehe I would of had food everywhere!

:rotfl:

We generally eat in the lounge, in front of the simpsons  Mason and Brody sit together at a little table.

We eat at the table once on a while and when we have people round for dinner.

Always for us, we have a table and chairs in the kitchen and I spend most of my day in there (it has doors onto the garden). We normally only migrate into the lounge in the evenings. Evie eats much better if we all eat together and its nice to all sit down and talk. We were never allowed to eat in the lounge when we were growing up and I think this has alot to do with it.

Plus, when we first got together and didn't have a table I found I would get really bad belly ache after sitting on the sofa and eating.

i always sit at the table :D so does bray i think we only ever havent about three times wen we were playing camping and sat under the table lol

we always sit at the table. i find it uncomfortable to sit on the sofa with my food. we haveno tv on in the other room/ or its muted and we all eat and talk. i think that as the kids get older it might be the only time we're together as a family.

I our old house we didn't have a dining room or a table and I really missed not having one, so here we do and we always use it :)

its about half and half. Our house is tiny so we have a little table in the kitchen. Breakfast and lunch - me and Seren will sit in the living room. She has a little table. Dinner time is either at the table or Seren has her table and me and OH eat off our laps (well we have platestoo). Either way is good for me as we chat, and thats the most important aspect for me. When Cally is eating solids and is sitting at the table too then we will eat at the table more as there isn't anywhere for her to eat otherwise.

I was brought up to eat evening meals around the table, my OH's mum never had a dining room and so only sat round a table for a christmas dinner.

We generally sit round the table when we have guests and on a sunday for a roast.

When Caitlyn starts on solids we will be sitting round the table every evening.,
