I don't know how much to buy for new born and 0-3 months in terms of body suits and sleeping suits.

Any ideas?

I would buy few things in newborn. But I had a massive baby last time that practically didn't fit into any newborn clothes. She weighed nearly 14lbs at 6 weeks old.

I have not bought a thing for this baby!!

I only ever buy a few things in newborn 9 ish of everything then everything else is 0-3 and a few 3-6 so that a have a little headstart with the 3-6.

Same with nappies.. two boxes of size one and the rest are size 2 xx

That's a great idea !!

Everyone told me not to bother with newborn sizes but my 7lb 8 baby was even swamped by those so I'm glad I got some in! They don't last long so I'd just buy nice supermarket ones in newborn and maybe some nicer ones in 0-3 or 3-6 x

I bought a few in newborn size and much more in size 0-3 and it was a good call! DD was a big baby and putting her in newborn size was really difficult so we went into 0-3 very quickly. I recon 10 vest in each size and 10 sleepsuits in each size will do the job xx

thanks hun. Yeah I tend to go to supermarkets as see no point in buying very expensive clothing since they only wear it a few times

My son was 9lbs 11 at birth and fit into newborn for about 10 days. Then into 0-3

We were told by midwives and my consultant at the time that they thought I was having around an 8lb baby. So I bought lots of newborn only to discover when he was born that he was actually 10lb12 and didn't fit into any of it. He was straight into 0-3months.
So this time I'm expecting a large baby so will be buying 0-3 and maybe 1 vest and 1sleepsuit newborn just incase and then, if she ends up being smaller, hubby can pop to the shops to stock up on newborns!

She was nearly 10lbs and none of the scans showed that she could be a bigger baby. Just as well I was induced at 38 weeks lol :D x

I have about 8 newborn vests and sleep suits. For 0-3 I have about 20 vests and maybe 10-12 sleep suits, possibly more of them actually. My babies have been 8lb 6, 8lb 12 and 8lb 13, all of them only fitted in newborn for about 2 weeks, and then were in 3-6 by 10 weeks.

I've not bought any newborn things at all and don't plan to buy much at all until after Christmas, mainly because I think a lot of people will buy stuff and also because I can pick up stuff in the sales. Don't want to end up spending a load of money on clothes that the baby will never wear.

My daughter was 7 pounds 11 when she was born but still newborn clothes drowned her. She had severe reflux which lead to extremely slow weight gain so I was fortunate in a way as she did get wear out of her clothes and didn’t outgrow newborn until she was about 2 months old and even then she still didn’t wear everything. This time I’m going to buy a lot less. I will still be sure to buy a few newborn bits tho as from my scan so far it’s a little smaller than average (they said this about my daughter too) so always best to. If you think you’re going to have a big baby just get a pack or two of Sleepsuits and vests. There will be accidents poo explosions and sick etc so they can need changing often so bare that in mind but there’s no stopping you stocking up on some extra when the babies here if he/she does end up smaller/bigger than expected. Online shoppings a blessing
