Don't know why the if its cos no replies it prob cos its quiet on here atm.
I weaned Libby off at 3 months old, HV said to drop feeds over a few weeks which I did. Although at 2 she won't be having as many feeds as at 3 months, so I would only assume it would be a matter of slowly dropping the feeds over a short time (as much for your friends comfort as for her daughter's benefit).
She could run it past her HV to be sure shes doing the right thing, also I'm sure Budge wouldn't mind if you pm'd her the question, she's very knowledgeable on bf'ing.
Hope that helps hun
EDIT: Maybe ask a mod to move this to 'feeding & nutrition' as this is likely to get more views in there chick
Not sure as Ellie is only 14months. I am still BF last thing at night and if she wakes at night with teething pains or is ill. I am hoping that Ellie will drop this when she is ready. She dropped all the other feeds herself. How many BF is she having in 24hrs now and when are they? My only suggestion is to offer cows milk when she demands a BF and try and convince her to take it instead.
I stopped BF Kiara at a year old a few days after her Birthday and i dropped a feed every 2 days so within about a week she was off and had no problems with it
Ellie stopped the morning feed once I moved to giving her breakfast earlier. Now as soon as I get her up I take her down stairs to give her a glass of milk and weetabix or ready brek. Once she has as much as she wants from them, to start with I did try offering her the breast but she refused it the first 2/3 times. After that I don't offer it to her.
I don't have any answer on the before bed and during the night one if she wakes as I am still in that boat I am afraid. I think the key is making sure she drinks enough milk and eats enough food during the day. I am sure Ellie isn't getting enough milk during the day in my case but she keeps refusing it.
