Isaac takes ages sometimes to finish his meals. anything up to an hour. I find he needs to have a little rest sometimes then start eating again and he always stops every 10 minutes or so for a drink of water. The only way I know he has finished is when he starts throwing it on the floor but even then I start picking it up and he stuffs another mouthful in off his plate! Also I think sometimes Isaac finds a big plate of food a bit daunting so I tend to give his just some then wait for him to eat that and then give him some more.
Up to an hour. She doesn't like being in her highchair (unless she's infront of the computer) so usually she just wanders about playing with her toys and "grazes" her dinner. She'll wander off and play and then come back for another spoonfull.
She doesn't seem to care that her food goes cold in that time, so as long as she gets it down her that's all that matters.
Not that she always gets it down her though - she frequently pushes me away after just 2 bites and says "enough food". Depends on her mood and how hungry she is.
Ella's quite figety with eating - she doesn't like to spend very long in her highchair. For instance if I give her toast in her chair she'll spend 5-10 mins in there before shouting that she's finished (well her version of the word finished!!) and then she'll get out after eating a tiny amount. If I let her have the plate in the front room she'll graze on it and finish it over the course of about 30 mins.
5 mins, not including him licking the plate/bowl afterwards, that normally adds another 5 mins! If it is something he is not keen on, he justs, starts playing with it! I must clean the floor twice aday !
Kylie takes about 20 mins to eat her dinner, and if its something like mash or beans, eats with her hands, cause its "fin'er foo!"
Freddie as a toddler ate anything you'd give him in under 10 minutes, but he was a good baby.
this is a touchy subject. zack has always been a pain with food, it takes him up to 2 hours sometimes to even make a start... but i wont let him leave the table until its all gone. hes 3 now
