How long do you boil an egg for?

Really dum question maybe but how long is safe to boil an egg for so it is hard to make egg mayo sandwhiches?

I like runny eggs so not sure how long is to long.

I had one tonight and boiled it for 9 minutes from when the water started boiling. I wasn't sure either and had to phone my mum to ask her!

i hate boiling eggs i always get it wrong, poor OH always ends up with hard boiled and not soft boiled, made them on sunday morning and got it wrong again so ive given up now!

I like runny eggs so not sure how long is to long.

Flame - dont think we are allowed soft or runny eggs...?

yes i think so kirsty, its just home made mayo which we have to avoid which shops wont bother to use, just be careful in restaurants.
