Hi all,

My baby is now 7 months and we are going to try again for baby number 2.

My question is to the ladies who have had implants. How long did it take for you to conceive once you had the implant removed?

I understand the answers will vary and each individual is different but it would still be nice to know what sort of time frames we are looking at.

I am about to remove mine and was wondering the same thing

I had implant out Jan 2012. Had no periods at all when had implanon in. Periods didn’t come back till Oct 2013 so not far off 2 years. Nobody had a clue what was going on as all tests came back normal. However, I was a bit (although not majorly) underweight back then (BMI 17.5) and the return of my period in Oct 2013 and subsequent bfp in Nov 2013 coincided with me deliberately gaining over a stone so I don’t know how much the weight and how much the implanon was to blame for such a long return to fertility.

Once your periods return, you should have as good a chance as anyone of conceiving.

I started bleeding the day of removal and then bled over the next few days but i don't really know if it's a period or not.

It's all very tricky.

2 years for me.....I won't ever be taking any hormonal contraception again after my experiences!
