Hi, i'm 31 weeks and 2 days. I'm 5ft 10in, but before i got pregnant, i had been on a diet, and lost 3 and half stone. I used to weigh 10st exactly, so far i have gained 3st, but everyone says i dont look as far as i am. Even my midwife said that i'm not carrying any fat. But i always hear people sayin things like-
*your body is never the same again
*everything sags
*you look horrible

Thisis really stressin me out, cos i'm really active, and i was really lean before my pregnancy, and still feel like i'm not that big. And i know that once the baby comes, i'm gona try my hardest to get back to my old self, but is it possible?

Come on guys, anything you say is welcome

I posted this in the third trimester too cos i'm in mine.

I think it whas alot to do with whether you have had any other children, your general muscle tone and BF does also pay a part as the LO's usually need alot out of you in the first few weeks.

I was 21 slender, hardly had a bump and I walked out of the hospital with a flat belly  breast feeding lost me a huge amount of weight too I never looked better than the first few months after my DS birth!

Im 30 this year and am huge with my second for my gestation. I dont expect to get back in shape quite as quickly

It depends on alot of things really, nobody can say what you'll be like, and some people will say it's easy to get back to normal and others won't.

After my first I never lost any of the weight and my shape was completely different and it never went back to how it was before. When I had my second I lost all of the weight plus another stone within a few months but my shape had changed slightly again.

I wouldn't say I'm happy with how I look but I've learnt to accept that my body will never be how it was before I had kids. It's not the end of the world :)

I had ds3 12 weeks ago, and at the end of my pregnancy i had put on 4 stone ( 14stone) and my tummy measured 52.5"   . I now have just 9lb left to reach my pre-pregnancy weight. The only thing I hate is my masses of stretch marks on my tummy - they really are shocking, and I don't think any amount of exercise is going to improve the look of them!!!
So if you haven't any stretchmarks, you should go back pretty much how you were before.
I like my squidgy tum, its all soft and cuddly lol

lots of people hav told me im in better shape now than b4 i was pregnant! :D

i gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and was 11st and a half at full term (im only 5'4") 2st dropped off effortlessly in 2 weeks, the rest has come off gradually, i am now 7st :cheer:

and my arms are amazingly toned, because carrying my 21lb daughter around under one arm all the time is probably equivalent to being at the gym all day!

i must warn u it dont all ping back straight away! i looked a saggy, squidgey mess just after i'd given birth. but now my tummy has gone flat and my boobs are still pert and not droopy despite me breastfeeding for 8 months. so dont worry!

I am 5 foot 4 inches tall and weighed 8 stone 10 before pregnancy.

I breastfed exclusively for the first 6 months.

After birth your tummy goes from looking full term (obviously) to looking abotu 20-25 weeks. Then it gradually goes down as your uterus contracts over the next week or so.

To be honest, the majority of the weight went on it's own in about a month. Even though I ate loads and didn't really exercise.

I now weigh 9 stone 3, so I'm about half a stone heavier than before. This last half stone is quite difficult to shift, but to be honest I haven't really been trying too hard. I didn't want to diet or do too much exercise whilst exclusivley breastfeeding as I didn't want to reduce my supply.

I now go for a run once a week and go for a swim once a week, and I'm aiming to lose that last half stone in the next few months.

The main difference with my body is the lack of tone in my abs. I used to have a really flat tummy, and although there isn't much fat on it now, from immediately below my ribs to my pelvic bone, it bulges out due to the muscles being weaker. I really have to get going with the sit ups, etc, to sort that out.

Other than that, I don't mind my body now. It's not as good as before but I'm sure I can get it there without too much effort.

K.xx

My body looked like crap after Aaron and I tried my hardest to put it right but it didn't go too well to be honest. I didn't have an amazing body to begin with. I'm not too bothered though, it's carried my babies so it's all good :D

Im 5ft 8 and weighed 8st when I got pregnant for the first time!
During the pregnancy I put on 3 1/2 stone and took me to 11 1/2 stone!
Afterwards, i never went under 10 stone! Ever again lol!
But then, I have an underactive thyroid now so thats is why!
My sis was a size 10 when she had her first, after her third she was able to wear a size 8! It really all depends on your body and if like you said, you are active, then you should be able to get back to how you were before!

I actually weigh less now than I did at my 16 week booking in appointment! breastfeeding is great!

I didn't go full term though and my bump was all baby = had no bump when i left hospital

I gained just under two stone with Harrison (this is number 2 for me) and I've 4 pounds to loose to get down to my pre preg weight, with DD I gained 4 stone and it took 2 years to fully shift. My tummy never quite went right back to pre preg but wasn't too bad, all flabby now tho but thennI've done no exercise :rotfl:

My weight is pretty much back to what it was before pregnancy. I put on about 2.5 stone during pregnancy, but had a fairly small bump and didn't go overdue. It took a couple of months to get back to normal though, I remember my thighs were a bit bigger for a while as I couldn't get some of my jeans on. My tummy is softer than it was though because I never did those stomach exercises they tell you to afterwards! Managed to get away with no stretchmarks luckily, and my boobs are naturally small so they don't really sag.

how easy is it to get back into shape? well I'm a shape - just not the one I want! :rotfl:

I gained loads of weight while I was pregnant not sure how much as I have a phobia of scales :D but before I was pregnant I was about 8-8 and a half stone I didn't weight myself through my whole pregnancy but at my postnatal appointment I got weighed and was 9stone9 but since then I have slowly lost weight by not even doing anything. I can now fit into most of my prepregnancy clothes fine not sure how much weight I have lost as I hate scales but I think I am nearly back to normal. Just have to loose my jelly belly now. It has gone back to being flat but is all soft and squidgy still. xxxxx

I gave birth a week ago and I have a very small 'jelly belly' but no stretchmarks and I'm back in Size 8 clothes.

My boobs are struggling to fit in them though :rotfl:

My baby is over two weeks and everyone has been saying for the past week that they cannot believe that I have just had a baby.

I was 50 kilos (5 foot 4) before I fell pregnant, and put on 14 kilos during pregnancy. I now weigh 55 kilos. Most of the weight is in my boobs and tights, but it is slowly coming off.

I fit into to size 8 clothes, but my boobs and bum still won't allow me to go back to my size 6 clothes.

I have been really surprised how easily the weight has come off as I was expecting it to take much longer. I am looking forward to being able to start exercising properly again to enhance my abs and legs.

I bet you don't worry about your body as the baby will keep you occupied!

Am I the only one who is a huge wobbly blob  :shakehead: :shakehead: My weight judt wont go and I still feel like I look 6 months pregnant :talkhand:

Evie is 6 days old ( ) today and I just look a bit tubby on the belly (although my mahooosive boobs distract you from the belly! :rotfl: )

I've lost the 'weight' as such- I actually weigh less now than before I fell pregnant but the muscle tone has gone. Brestfeeding definately makes a difference. Despite the pain I am still in from having her much at my nipple I can feel my stomach pulling in and my uterus contracting when I feed.

 TBH though- I couldn't care if I was still the size of a house... I have the most beautiful baby girl in the world! I thought I would be uber paranoid about my body after giving birth- I didn't let my OH see me naked when I was pregnant because I felt 'fat' but NOW I wander round with all my bits wobbling (and they do wobble!)- I gave birth to his daughter which IMO is much sexier than frilly knickers and a toned midriff

I had my Son nearly 2 years ago now and I'm not anything like I used to be (I lost the weight by the time he was about 5 months but I still have lots of saggy flabby bits  ) but thats because I haven't helped myself by eating the right things and getting exercise, I think it really all depends on how hard you try to get your body back to the way it was, It can be done, obviously there are going to be stretch marks (unless you're lucky not get them) but having carried your baby for 9 months I think is a beautiful in itself.
