How do you stop worrying?

Hi,

So I’ve just had a bit of a scare (all ok though) I had been to the loo and wiped. I did my usual look at tissue as i do now. (Paranoia) anyway I thought I saw pink discharge. I think it was just dodgy lighting and that the cm was a little creamier than it normally is. I’ve checked a dozen more times and no pinkness in sight but I’ve just been sat crying for 20 mins. I know i’m probably being ridiculous.

How do you take your mind off worrying ? My anxiety is through the roof. My fiancé is at work till 22:00 so I can’t get reassurance from him just yet.

X

When my fiancé got home we had a talk and helped me realise I was panicking over nothing.

I am on constant knicker watch all the time!
I'm always sure something is going to go wrong. I have no idea how to stop the worrying but I want you to know your not alone lol, X

Thank you. I’m hoping once I have my early scan I’ll be a little more reassured.

Ohh when is it?
I wish I was having one but we're going abroad in 5 weeks and I haven't done all my shopping for that yet lol

It’s booked in for 22nd September first thing in morning. I’m not expecting to see much but just that in right place and if there’s def one.

By LMP I’ll be 7 weeks plus 3 days. But I think I’ll only be 5 1/2 weeks. Not entirely sure when I ovulated. So at most 6 weeks + 3 or 5 weeks +3.

I was 6+1 for both early scans with this one and my son, and saw a gestational sac, fetal pole and a tiny flicker of a heartbeat so if you're as far along as 6-7 weeks hopefully you get to see that too!
If you're as early as 5-6 weeks you should see the gestational sac and yolk sac, maybe a fetal pole too, so it should at least give you some piece of mind that the pregnancy is in the right place and matches your dates :)

I worried about everything with my first because I had no idea what was happening and it was all new, and this time I find I'm STILL worrying, just about different things. More so the labour and practical sides of being pregnant with a little one and having a newborn with a toddler, as opposed to something wrong with the pregnancy, but it's still powerfully overwhelming sometimes.

I don't have an answer for helping with the worry, but if you find it's too much, do keep talking to us and to your partner, or see a GP for some extra support <3

Aww thankyou. I do find a lot of information, reassurance and support on this forum. I’m so glad I found it. Can’t wait till I see the scan. I’m sure there will be something to see. My fiancé is amazing too. I’m a very lucky woman.

I think we have a good group of women in May mummies. We can all support each other.

May mummies > aaaaaaall the people.

No, but seriously I do think this is one of the most supportive and accepting forums out there. It’s hard when forums are primarily a bunch of hormonal women, as I’ve found most just want to tear other women down, but this one is amazing. I was in September 2017 mummies for my first pregnancy and everyone was incredible at getting me through it!

I am 19.5 weeks and still check the toilet paper every time. I don’t know how to stop the worrying. It helps to feel baby move around... so that’s been reassuring for me the last 8 weeks or so. You’ll get here soon. It’s so hard!

Aw thankyou. Once I got the 2nd trimester it will probably fly. I’ve not been to bad yesterday and feeling positive today.

You never stop worrying if that's how you are !

I found our early that I am pregnant with my baby ( at 2-3 weeks) and have been worried until I saw him in my arms! I am jealous on people who just enjoy the pregnancy and don't worry too much as I was the other way round.
Hopefully this time will try to relax a bit ..:D

I don’t think you ever stop worrying? I was talking to my friend about this - her sons are 17 & 15 and she said she still lies awake worrying about them at night. So I think this level of worry may just be my life now

I’m 10 + 1 & I’m still very paranoid. I ended up having 2 scans, one due to paranoia & one due to a bleed.. within a week of each other. Both scans perfect ( I was around 6 weeks) both seen heart beat :)
That honestly helps a lot! Doesn’t stop worrying completely, but it helps.
I’ve had spotting since my scans - obv I panicked! But it’s ok... I’ve still got symptoms (sickness mostly) .. although now I’m getting closer to 12 weeks the sickness is slowing down - but I’m putting that down to a mixture of anti-sickness tablets actually working & getting to 2nd tri.

Easier said than done, but try relax.
I suffer with anxiety even before my pregnancy so for me to tell someone to relax sounds silly lol but having been where u r, u need to try x

Aw thank you for your message. I hope everything goes smoothly for you for rest of pregnancy.
I think I was just having a rough day and it all got to me. I’m feeling very positive at the moment. I’m generally a very positive person. I worry about my 13 and 16 yr olds so i’m guessing this is me when i’m pregnant or anything to do with kids.

My mum is 51. I'm her eldest at almost 28, I'm even a police officer, and she STILL worries about me.
God forbid I ever tell her I'm going out after dark.. :oooo:

Mums

Haha my dad is exactly the same with me. You’d think I’d been living in a bubble and not raising 2 kids.
