How do you start running?

Stupid question I know but seriously how do you start?

I know you have to warm up but then do you run for 5 minutes at a time then increase it weekly? I don't think I could run longer than 2 minutes at the moment :oops: but I really need to get fit and don't want to join a gym :bored: or get an exercise dvd when I can run round the block for free :wink:

Any advice?
 
Soooo I'm guessing nobody on here runs then?

my way would be start running for 2 mins if you can manage it then walk for 2 then run for 2 then walk, or as long or as short as you can as long as you run then walk etc. then build it up week by week :D
 
maybe start by doing a brisk walk, then jog and build it up that way?

i walk quick on the tredmill on highest incline lol

I really want to do it but I'm scared I'll have a heart attack or something :( I'm so unfit.
 
Just dont try doin too much straight off...if you go out full pelting it you will kill yoursen! just stop if it hurts and walk insted kinda thing.

No seriously you are right, I just need to have a brisk walk then a gentle jog, its common sense really isn't it? I just need to get my ass in gear :)
 
mines too far away...ill jog down the bedroom steps to the car lol

nah its daunting hun, im gonna start going back to the gym and swimming again....i def recomend swimming though :)
 
Yeah I like the idea of swimming because I hate being sweaty :puke:
