Really I shouldn't laugh, but it was great post-work tonic to see his face when I told him!!

I thought I was just being referred to the gynae for my PCOS and recent lack of AF as I have not spoken to an actual gynae since 2005! I received a letter today from her asking me for a variety of bloods (not just the 21 day test which my GP said would be all that was needed!) and for my OH to have 2 x SA's done beforehand. We have no idea what's going on as that is news to us so I'll call them tomorrow.

Anyway, in an attempt to lighten the load of TTC, I'm sure some of you have some amusing stories of how your OH's reacted or found doing the deed "challenging".

Mine was absolutely dreading it!! He was petrified and had to plan to do the deed v early in the morning but the dog kept getting in the way then had to rush to the hospital to drop it off and felt thoroughly embarrassed as it was a young girl on the desk! Waiting for the results was he'll he was so quiet, then when he finally got them he was overjoyed when they come back normal!

It ain't a nice thing but its got to be done! Fingers crossed it works out well for u both xxx

My OH was such a girl about it! Compared to having a vaginal ultrasound or hsg - I can't believe they have the cheek to moan!

No, its nothing compared to the intrusive and painful tests we have to do!

Mine put it off for ages, then when I reminded him he just ignored me. As time went on and I started getting close to the cut off age for free fertility treatment I was getting quite upset about it and told him how I felt. He almost crashed the car and said my comment was totally out of the blue!! It’s weird because it had been completely off his radar, whereas it was something I thought about every day!

He calmed down eventually and did the test. He found it quite embarrassing and I think I annoyed him because he was supposed to keep the sample at body temperature, but when he was getting dressed he put it down on the linen basket and I called out “put it in your pants!”

He was overjoyed when the result came back normal but said he was hoping for ‘impressive’! He was a bit concerned when we got the detailed results and the morphology was low and googled it straight away. (We still missed the cut off for free treatment.)

:sperm:

Mine must be the most hilarious thing in the world. Sitting at home with his specimen cup thingy and instructions (that was possibly the funniest piece of paper I ever saw!!) He then worked out that they wanted the specimen at a certain time of day and it could only be a certain amount old...... long story short he ended up having to do it in the car!!!!!! I laughed so much when he told me, so did our go when we went to get the results. OH was not impressed and very embarrassed!!
