How come my AF is irregular?

I am just wondering why AF is always irregular every month. Ever since I got my first period 8 years ago they have never been regular and I can never accurately predict when she is going to arrive. What is the cause of this? and what can I do to get it to be regular and is this a reason why I am having trouble TTC??

Hi hun, im not sure but my periods have always been irregular too, ranging from 25 to 40 days in length. It does make it very difficult to pinpoint ovulation but ive found charting my BBT helps and gives some kind of clue as to whats going on!

I have asked a number of doctors why, and have never gotton a clear answer - maybe its just one of those things?

Like GGG i have really irregular cycles ranging from 28 days to 42! I haven't had any explanation but hoping that temp charting will help. Just think about it this way it means you have to BD more as you never know when the right time it will be!

Hi Lilangel,

I was having irregular cycles which I only really noticed how bad when I started ttc. I started taking the herb vitex 2 months ago as it is supposed to be good for regulating you when ttc and my cycles went straight to 30 days. It isn't recommended when Pregnant so I have stopped taking it now but I really believe it helped me get my BFP. Just hope it sticks.

Where do you get the Vitex from is it prescribed? Sorry just never heard of it

Becs...did you just take the herb in the time up until OV and then stop each month or did you take it all the time until you got your BFP?? have been thinking about trying this as I also have irregular cycles.
