how annoying!

i keep looking in my area for groups to get out to with Max but everything seems to be for older babies


id feel stupid turning up with a 7 week old to a playgroup type one. but when i search baby groups its all for like 6 months plus.

there definitley needs to be more newborn groups! i think its the time most mums could do with the support and company

pointless thread really just find it quite frustrating that i wanna get out n do stuff and have nothing to do!

Don't you have any children's centres close by?

I'm spoilt here really, I could fill my whole week with classes if I wanted. We did baby bop today

We go to a bumps and babies group on a Monday, baby massage on a Tuesday and a new parent and baby group on a Thursday have a look for ur local surestart centres, they will have loads for groups for u and a 7 week old x

i go to bookstart, breastfeeding group and theres baby massage if i wanna go too

I've been to our surestart- Everythings for older babies! I went to the new parent group but it was for only 3 weeks now its stopped. I'm on the waiting list for baby massage so don't know if ill get to go. They don't have a bump and babies one there. They have sensory play but surely hes too young for that? He would prob sleep through it!

I wanna do like a buggy walking club or something but can't find one in my area xxx

The local council do fit to push classes in the local park here. It's an exercise class with the pushchair

Thing is with childrens centres is certain plaaces get more money put into them (I've worked for a childrens centre before) so our area isn't deemed as 'in need' so they don't get as much funding for groups!

Have you tried looking for playgroups in your area on facebook? I went to an organized play group here but all the other babies were 7 months or older. I found a facebook grroup for play groups in my area and am meeting with a bunch of other moms with 3 month olds tomorrow I am sure other new moms in your area are thinking the same as you!

Have you tried NCT? they do groups and will put you in touch with other mums who may know more about what's going on in the area x

Haven't tried either of those so thanks ladies will give them a go! Hoping for a bit of sunshhine today so I can take max on a long walk

Have you asked at your centre? They should be able to advise. We only really have busy babies once a week and baby massage but there's a waiting list for that.

We had a baby group for under ones in our local area but to save money they combined the toddlers group with it too.now it's overrun with toddlers. my HV said she wished they didn't combine as now alot of new mums are not going to the group due to toddlers running all over the place!x
