Hi Ladies, I hope this finds you all well?

Well today i went all the way to Monklands hospital..got lost trying to find it too

I saw a really nice Doctor.... He couldn't scan me today, but he took a full history, examined me, took blood and urine samples to get tested.....so he wasn't leaving anything to chance.
I obviously do have problems... blood, protein, Keytones Etc... aint normal.
When he gave me a physical examination, he told me I have inflamed kidneys, He went on to say...

"quote" I am a Kidney Doctor but I can tell you, for your gestation I would expect you to be about 5cm higher. so there IS a problem. :shakehead:

Anyway.... he said he can feel BABY MOVING ! ! YIPPEE
 :cheer:

I have to wait for all the results and then he will Arrange a Bladder scan once he gets them. so about a month. for this side of my health.

He was disgusted at my Midwife and is going to contact my obstetrician.
He told me renal problems can be linked in some cases to fertility problems, Miscarriage and Pre-eclampsia. amongst other things.. oh joy!! :shakehead:

But I do need to get monitored and proper pre-natal care now. So Here We Go Again!!!! I will Phone MW AGAIN tomorrow... leave a message and tell her what I know..... Maybe she won't ignore me then. Also this lovely doctor is going to contact them and my OB Direct....... so i might get call from her  erm don't think! ! :wall:

so... I can't wait until this baby is here safe and sound.... only another 18+ weeks to go :rotfl: :|

Thank you all for the support.... And yes I WILL no matter what be changing my Midwife to a glasgow one now!

I'll keep you up to date, Lv Yvonne xx

Hi Yvonne,

Glad to hear that someone's taking you seriously at last! And that baby's moving!!!

I wouldn't worry too much about the fundul height measurement though, as they said mine was lower than expected with my son and so expected him to be small: he was my first baby, born at 39 weeks at 7lbs 4oz, so not small at all.

It's also a positive if the doctor's made a link between your renal issues and the possibility of m/c, because at least it sounds as though they're going to have more answers this time. And, referring you to an obstetrician/consultant for the remainder of your care probably means that you'll have special care for the rest of your pregnancy.

A good result all round then! Yes, you go and give that m/w what for.

xxx

:rotfl: hope so Wendy!!!" :rotfl:
and yes... what for in lots of Calm tones too,,,,,, NOT ! ! ! :rotfl: Although i reckon the kidney doctor might beat me to it... he REALLY Wasn't happy..

Lv Yvonne xx.... TY again for everything... means a lot!

Glad you are finally getting somewhere Yvonne and baby is moving!

Sounds like everything will finally get sorted out now for you and hopefully fast.

Good luck in finding a new midwife too

Yvonne what a relief that your baby is moving around that's just great news. I definitely think you should change mw's your currently one sounds like a right disaster. Hopefully you will get much better care for the rest of your pregnancy.

Take care.

Yvonne, thats great news that baby's moving, you must be so pleased :cheer:

Hi Yvonne,

I'm so pleased for you that the doc had some positive news about the baby - as long as it's moving around in there, then it might just be a little tot and not a big bruiser!

I definitely reckon you should change m/w. I called mine the other day (about moving an appointment, so hardly urgent) and she called me back within minutes!

Have you thought of going for a private anomaly scan? We went for one at 21 weeks (I'm in Scotland too) and it cost £150 - which took us ages to save up - but it was so worth it. I know you (and I) shouldn't have to pay, but sometimes it's worth it for peace of mind?

Take care

Valentine xxx

its good news that you got to see someone who seems to know what he is saying.

its good that the baby is wriggeling around :)

good luck :)

Thank God some doctors know what they are doing. xxx

 Thank you All Very much for the support... I am so so so happy that my Baby was moving for the Kidney doctor.... and he was so good with me.

I am Definitely changing Midwife. :cheer: And Determined this Baby will get here safe and sound and at the right time!!! :)

I will probably end up going for a private scan, but i shall give my new MW the chance to sort things out first... she has a week :rotfl: then like the ladies say above... i am going to PAY up and except the cost for peace of mind. Thank you again for EVERYTHING! lv Yvonne xx

so glad you went to him. Now you will be monitored closely which is great news. I'm sure you'll be fine

Hey Yvonne

I only just read your 'nightmare'. There is no way you should be going through this worry! My hospital has specialist midwives who are there to work with people who have had any angels. I know because I have and was offered this service. Have you looked into this - apologies if I am getting you to repeat yourself!

Anyway big big  persevere and complain as much as you need to to get heard!

Glad you have some answers, but dont be disheartened by disinterested professionals, there ARE other options honey and its good to see you are considering them.

Take care
G x

 Thank you glow.... you know this is a question I HAVEN'T asked... and a service that has NEVER been offered..... I think i will be bring that up when i DO see the Midwife.... Thank you for bringing it to my attention....

BTW did you read the article in the sunday express today? it talks about Scotland's shame of post code lottery with Scans..... Also says that many woman are having to pay £200 for scans they should get FREE...@20-22wks.

How a law was passed 3 YEARS ago stating EVERY mum to be HAD to Have the second Scan...... Well i am glad it's made the papers.. heres hoping it makes a difference.... very interesting article..... authorities claim shortages but Government SAY there's NOT.. also NHS say there's NOT .... so WHY? ? ?

OK Rant over AGAIN... :rotfl: Lv Yvonne xx

That new health minister for Scotland is supposed to be all about the people and has recently stopped a couple of ward closures where the decisions have been made by the health boards - at least one I know of in Glasgow. The health boards have had to wait for public investigations So maybe people power will finally happen.

(or maybe the politicians are looking to get famous and have decided that George Galloways appearance in Big Brother was not the best way eurghh that cat !! :rotfl: )

We will see. Good luck anyway honey x
