Hello ladies, well the subject pretty much sums it up. I've hardly ever had heartburn before but about a week ago I got it after my evening meal. I've had it every day since, sometimes two or three times a day. And at the same time I started burping REALLY badly for ages after I'd eaten.

Does anyone know any remedies? Should I start eating smaller meals (please no  )?

Heartburn/indigestion try Gaviscon (get on script form your GP as get it free then) Buy over counter in supermarkets and chemists also if need it now.

Drink a glass of milk might help in the meantime.

I agree with the lovely sherlock, rennies and milk is helpful, I also found eating really small portions, avoiding fatty foods, and drinking lots of water helped...

Thanks ladies - I will try the rennies and milk for this evening and tomorrow and if I have no success I'll ring the Doc on Tuesday for some free Gaviscon.

Had beans on toast for lunch and is costing me dearly now! Glass of milk coming up.

Just a bit of a lreated question but is it ok to continually take rennies and gaviscon? Their such a godsend dont think i could cope otherwise...

Glass of milk was soothing but only for about five minutes so have dug out an old pack of rennies (expired 2004 but taste ok  ) so we will see how they do.

There was nothing on the pack about not being recommended if you're pregnant so am assuming its fine to suck as often as required.

Mmmm... working so far...

I use bicarbonate of soda!
I use gaviscon sometimes but when it is really really bad, I get a little bicarb in warm water and it works a treat! :D

Milk doesn't work for me :( And I love it! I have to have gaviscon drink :puke: It's like drinking a solid it's so thick!! Urgh... Quickly followed by a pint of orange or something to take the taste away!

Hell no about reducing your meal size lol! :shakehead: I'd rather suffer with the heartburn I think

It is horrible though hun so I do sympathise, it's so uncomfortable and just a really bad side effect of pregnancy  xxx

OMG I had horrid Heart Burn with DS thanks for the reminder

actually the first thing I brought when I found out I was preggers this time was folic acid and gaviscon!!

I used to carry a large bottle in my purse and swallow it regularly like an old trampy wino!!!

There is a limit how much you are supposed to have per day but I remember going through big bottles very quickly.

I'm suddenly getting heartburn and acid reflux but a the same time I sooo hungry and can't stop troughing. Smaller portions really aren't an option  Gaviscon is working for me but fortunately it's the chewable tablets...I think that the liquid (sludge) would make me sick.
