Hi, sorry to bother you all. Just a quick question as I'm quite worried. I am 5 weeks and 4 days pregnant. 2 weeks ago I got told I had a uti as I was experiencing really bad pains. They gave me nitrofurantoin for 1 week but unfortunately that didn't work. I went back to the doctors Monday just gone and they could still see an infection in my urine and wanted to send it off to determine which bug it was and the right medication to give me. I called the doctors today to see what my results were a d the Dr informed me of no bug in my urine and wasn't happy to give me antibiotics. She said if I'm not bleeding not to worry and just offered me codeine.
I wasn't convinced so I called my local maternity unit for advice and they told me it sounds like implantation pain. Now my pain is very severe and is making me be sick sometimes. It isn't constant pain but comes and goes and when it comes it is really crippling. The hospital said if I'm not bleeding and the pain isn't just on one side then it sounds like implantation pains. These can last up to 8 weeks in pregnancy. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what to do? I don't know how much more I can take of these pains. They're really getting me down.
Thank you

Hi hun and welcome,
Sorry your going through this, its not the easiest thing to go through. If your really in that much pain i would suggest making another appointment at the doctors and going through everything (For the 10000th time). Other then a trip up to A&E, and im not even sure if you would get a scan then i cant think of much else. Id defo make another appointment.
Hope all goes well x

Hi Hun
I have been suffering abdominal pains from the beginning.. which felt like period cramps, sometimes it is so intense I get scared.. I spoke to gp and told EPU who advised me of no bleeding than to just take pain relief and bare it..

I'm 10 weeks now, and the frequency of the pain is decreasing
