Hook effect

Has anyone ever heard of this?! Ive just been reading up about it on the internet, as this morning i did a test with some left over ics which came back abit lighter than last weeks which wAs darker than the control line, instantly freaked out, anyways i googled it, and apparently around 7-9 your hormones are that high that the test cant read them properly sometimes even giving a negative test, then they settle down again abit later on, so i thought i would test this theroy! I held my pee is for 4 hours no drinks, did another ic still lighter than last weeks, then i did the hook effect diluted my pee with water 50/50 and the one which was diluted with water came back so much darker!?! Couldnt believe it, so im Hoping that this is my case my hcg levels are that high and thats why! I hope so anyways!! And im
Defo not testing again bloody freaked me out! X

Am not doing another now after that freaked my right out feel better now tho now ive tested the theory and the test was darker!x

that's crazy - I had read that your levels go too high to be detected on a pregnancy test though but no idea about the hook test.

I am now never testing again sent me into a right craze it did!!! Apparently they have to do it with blood tests aswell at some point dilute them abitx

have heard about it, but never tested the theory! I'm sure that;s what it was with you otherwise you wouldn't have gotten the dark line with the diluted pee!

Omg how crazy your about to pop and it came back negative thats mad!!! Well i think that just proves the theory is correct then!! Exactly i want3 it that wasnt the case test wouldnt of come up darker after i diluted it, thats one thing im glad i googled as i would of got in a state! Thats it now im defo not testing again!! X

I'd heard about this.... so i decided to test it..

Last week i used an IC i had and the line was really faint on it.. much lighter than the control... so i had 1 left and i've just diluted my wee with water and the line is now darker than the control.. lol... so it's true.... it works.. xx

Wow thanks so im not going mad and making it up to feel better?!! It did the same on you aswell!! Pheww! I must admit after seeing a faint line i did go into panic mode! Until i did some reading up! And realised it happens when hcg gets high, suppose makes sense really, but oh boy i panicked!! Suppose its a good sign our hcg is rising nicely!! Glad it did the same on you!!! Xx

Totally i now have no more tests left in the house... so no more testing... xx

Lesson is well and truley learnt umbongo so stupid regretted it te minute i did it!! Ray dont do anymore i had a super dark line at 6 weeks then 7 weeks its was much lighter dissapointed me so try not to any more theres a chance in a week or so yours will do the same! Its horrible x
