My sis has a treadmill that she got for xmas! A reebok one and it fold ups too so a bit more practical! But it is still big lol and tbh I hate treadmills! But LOVE corss trainers! They are so much better! (well for me lol)
Treadmills hurt my joints and are just boring to me lol where as a cross trainer is easy on my joints, I find it more fun and can work out harder and longer! Plus you are using more of your muscles using a cross trainer!! I have been saying Im going to get one for ages now lol just not got the room
Good luck with your choice!
I had one a couple of years ago. It folded up really well and had wheels on it but it was still big and heavy to move round and I didn't have any space to leave it set up. I found it quite boring to use too so got fed up after a few months and sold it.
I'd be interested to see any replies to this thread as we are currently trying to decide what treadmill to get for home use. We went to look at lots last weekend, but so difficult to narrow it down. The things we learnt were:
1. at least 2 horsepower motor
2. needs to have a comfy running platform - some are air cushioned, etc
3. consider width of platform
Then other things like number of programmes, heart rate monitor, etc etc
We dont really want to spend more than about £600 - 700, so are considering the Horizon Ti22. The other thing to look out for is how long the warranty is (Horizon offer a v good one)
I opted for a cross trainer in the end - I kinda felt I could afford a half decent cross trainer or a cheap treadmill and I thought a cheap treadmill would be a nightmare, I got a reebok crosstrainer reduced from 400 to 260 pounds in JJB sports and it is well put together and very sturdy. I love the cross trainer now and find it less boring than I used to find the treadmill in the gym - I find the time goes much quicker on it, but I do miss the way I used to calculated distance ran on the treadmill in the gym - but once Darragh is a little bigger I will go back to the gym once or twice a week.
