Holiday in 2 weeks - Hot weather

oh no its finally here - the holiday is in 2 weeks and im starting to panik. I have no idea why, im usually not bothered by these types of things and just get on with it but I just feel worried for some reason.

Firstly we are going for 3 reasons, 1) its orans 1st Brithday, 2) its Daddys 30th Birthday and 3) its April so it should be cooler than the summer and we didnt want to take him in height of season at full heat! Reasons 1 & 2 are still fine but 3 is not, ive been checking a forum and there are a few locals who post a weather report and past week its been between 30 & 34 EVERY day. This is to hot for me to enjoy my hols (I like it 30 max or I get sweaty ) but im really worried that oran is going to burn and get ill. I have bought a 50+ UV protector Sun Tent for the beach for him to sleep / play in, I am buying a 50+ UV protector sun shade for his buggy so he can't get burnt it in, I have about 4 different makes / types of 50+ sun cream and 2 of them UV protective swim suits but im still worried lol.

The other things Im worried about are

1) what if he falls in the pool
2) what if someone snatches him
3) what if he gets ill through sun stroke / food poisoning
4) I know he wont sit still for 5 mins, what if he creates and creates on the beach and everyone starts looking and tutting
5) what if he wont sleep on a night

All the above goes along the side that I want to have a really good holiday/birthday with him but I just feel so shit at the moment all fat and horrible and I despise the camera pointing at me but I dont want to not be in pictures with him of his first birthday/ holiday so Im even worrying about something as trival as that!

1) what if he falls in the pool He won't, you'll be watching him constantly.

2) what if someone snatches him You have just as much chance of him getting snatched in the UK. Just take normal precautions that you would do anyways

3) what if he gets ill through sun stroke / food poisoning Sounds like your going to have him well protected from the sun. Food poisoning - guess your just going to have to check the food he is given but it's unlikely you will get ill. Try and find out where local docs/hospital is as this may put your mind at rest

4) I know he wont sit still for 5 mins, what if he creates and creates on
the beach and everyone starts looking and tutting He won't sit still for 5 minutes cos you'll be having loads of fun splashing about in the waves and playing on the sand

5) what if he wont sleep on a night after all that playing and fresh air I bet you won't be able to wake him

Awww hun it sounds like you are getting yourself all worked up
Do you think it is because it is such a special holiday (i.e Oran's first birthday and your OH 30th?) and there is a certain amount of pressure for it to be extra special?

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry about what could happen and just go and have a fab time.

Holidays are a time to relax and unwind and just take some time out.

You sound like you are pretty organised so just sit back and enjoy your special holiday and your son and OH's birthdays.

Thanks hun, your right, and I have answered all the questions the same so I don't know why Im paniking so much!

Am also worried they wont have a cot in the room (like we asked for) and the flights.............oh my the flight

Yeah I think its cause of that although I don't care if OH has a good time or not as long as Oran does ha. I think also because my Mum & Dad are coming and its not the kid of holiday place they would go so Im worried they will hate it altough they said they are well aware its not somewhere they would choose to go to and are just happy they will be with us for the celebrations. OH's best mate and her Fella coming over and OH's auntie & nanna coming over both as a surprise so I have to organise that surprise while keeping it secret. I need to get a nice piccie of oran and daddy before we go so I can get it on a joint cake while were there and head to a bar an organise a mini party.........phew Im supposed to be relaxing!!!

Plus oH is doing my head in all he says is ''well i can stay out every night as ''its my 30th'''' and ''you will have to put him to sleep in the day if he is fussing cause its a holiday for ''my 30th'' (he is quite selfish by nature but never sees it!) so I kicked off the other day and said ''its your sodding 30th for one bloody day and its orans 1st birthday which is more important (ha ha) and more to the point it the only holiday we will be going on this year so its MY holiday which may I point out I paid for IT ALL - while I was on SODDING MATERNITY LEAVE and NOT GETTING PAID (and yes I did shout these bits pmsl) so I shall thank you to remember this while on holiday and also when its my 30th, I like Florida thanks''

You go girl and tell him. Oran's special day is also your special day as you were the one giving birth a year ago. I think you need a night out and let your OH babysit

I'm sure it will be fab and think of all those babysitters you have too

Where are you going?

One thing we have found with Kai is that he hated being in a 'foreign' cot lol so he just was in the bed between us. We are going away to Argentina in April and will be doing the same then. And have found no problems when we came back, I just don't need the stress when we are away so give in on quite a few things.

And if does get upset, ignore everyone else. I think the majority of people just look to see what is going on and then you get some looking down their nose. I have had enough experience with that

Yeah Tina, I have about asmuch chance of getting OH to stay in while I go out as I do of hell freezing over HOWEVER mum & dad have said one of the main reasons there coming is to help us out, they will wish they didnt ha ha. Its a 2 bed little house thing (beds upstairs) were staying in with mum & dad as we thought its easier then if they take oran back to the room and settle him ''in the place he has slept all week'' plus I cant see barries nanna being out all night ha. Mind you oran gets up about 6am so Im hoping the warm weather and later nights will get him to sleep in a few more hours or we wont be in any fit state to have a late night!

Babsi were going to Gran Canaria, the problem is, with the beds in most spanish holiday resorts there singles, that we (somtimes they) push together so Oran cant sleep in the middle because he would probably fall down the cracks lol. He will be ok in a single bed with me, im used to perching on the end, but if we go out for a drink, ill tell mum to sleep in bed with him as I would be worried incase I went in to deep a sleep. HOWEVER fingers crossed he will sleep in the cot, were taking his favourite pillow and blanket to sleep on top off so hope that helps! Im not really bothered about people looking because he is having a benny, lol, im bothered about people looking, I hate drawing attention to myself as I feel so fat and horrible!
