I think the proper birth balls are supposed to be stronger and deflate more gradually than the gym balls.
I personally had a gym ball though as for the price they do the job fine and you can get them for less than a fiver!
I do think they make a difference, I gave up on sitting on mine when I went overdue because I felt so fed up and once I started slouching on the sofa Logan went back to back which hurt!!
i never tried the gym ball until a week before i was due.One i was in my 3rd tri i had got in into my head that i needed to have caden during the school half term as it was best timing wise as OH was at home etc.i spoke to a few ladies some said said fresh pineapple would start me off and some said bouncing on a birthing ball.sooooooooooooo i bounced on a birthing ball whilst eating fresh pineapple while watching tv and something mustve worked cos 2 days later i had caden
however all thats waffle in answer to your post i think its just birthig balls are a bit stronger and 4 times the price.i got a tesco gymball for £4.
I used to lean on mine when I was pregnant, it really took the weight off my back and hips. It was a cheapie from Tesco, I never sat on it though as I'm tall and I could never get up off it again once I was in my last weeks if pregnancy . It's deflated and in the loft now.
I had a go on the birthing ball when I went into labour and it really takes the weight and pressure off of your back and tummy. I will definatley invest in one next time I am pregnant
Im thinking of buying one myself, wouldnt care I sold a gym ball on ebay just b4 I found out i was pregnant typical eh! but for £4 al just get one from tesco
I think borthing balls are bigger but i used a gym ball too and there so much cheaper - just because it has the word birthing on it the manufators rip you off big time!
i discovered millie was still breech at 33 weeks and she stayed breech until i was almost full-term so bought a gym ball for £4. it did the trick! she turned
