i may be getting a bit ahead of myself here but thought i was suffering from thrush so midwifes swabbed lower in lady bits now doc has left a message (which i was informed by the receptionist!!) to have high vaginal swabs. do they do this automatically to check if its higher up. am now worried as i had these before i knew i was preggers and they fouinf group strep b so they basically said if returns will be oniv antibiotics in labour. sippose will have to wait till thursday to find out .

Hmmm...I had thrush in Tri 1 and I described my symptoms and they prescribed pessaries with no swabs. Ur much better off being checked hon and if there is Grp B Strep then they can treat it very easily in labour so no probs x x x

Can't help I'm afraid but didn't want to read and run! Hope it all gets sorted, and it's best to know what's going on so it's a good job they're checking it out x

I had thrush at about 30 weeks and was told that although midwife can do lower swabs she cant do higher cos they are taken near the cervix. A Dr. did mine so they could check to see how bad the thrush was and was strength of pessary and cream to give me, high infections can cause problems with baby getting thrush in eyes/mouth at delivery if not treated properly.

yeah im booked in with the dr so maybe that explains it, be good to get it treated xx

Glad your getting it checked out hun, best to get it all sorted now to save you probs later X
