Hi cherryabs. I am high risk with hypothyroidism too. My GP did not manage my dose very well in Tri 1 which led to quite a shocked consultant at the beginning of Tri 2 and my dose being increased by 59℅. Levels have stabilised now at slightly below normal but they are happy to leave it be until Tri 3. Baby seems to be OK. I am sure yours is too. X
I have hypothyroidism anyway, and during pregnancy they just kept a very close eye on it and adjusted my dose as required. By tri 3 they were happy and left me alone.
Hi thanks for all your replies, the midwife took my bloods at booking and have heard nothing so I am guessing my dose mustn't need increasing?
I'm just terrified as I had a missed miscarriage last year and although they said it probably wasn't down to my thyroid, it has always been in the back of my mind that perhaps it was
xx
I started this pregnancy as hypothyroidism and taking 150 of levothyroxine. However they have monitored it regularly and not once have they increased my dosage, it's been spot on every time x
Thanks, do you all know what your TSH was? Mine was 4 on last blood test which GP said was normal but I thought it was supposed to be between 1-2 in pregnancy? Worried now
Hi im in early stages of second pregnancy, my thyroid was apparently normal throughout my first pregnancy and my meds were never adjusted or increased once. All seemed ok until 6 months after birth my thyroid and health crashed, think it was over 33 by time they realised Meds were finally increased and thyroid normalised but it took months. Im really worrying about it in this pregnancy, dreading it all going wrong again. Ive always wondered if my thyroid crashed that time cos it wasnt increased during pregnancy, has any one ever experienced something similar before?xx
