LO is 5 days old and milk came in on day 3. he will feed for 5 mins come off and wont re latch he then waits 10 mins and does the same again eventually he ends up screaming but again wont re latch got midwife later today but i am really really stughling especially as OH is back at work today and my DD is only 17 months so cant understand why i cant play with her. x

Maybe check LO doesn't have a problem with his latch. On the whole though it just sounds like a newborn, almost anything can be normal in the first couple of weeks. I'd guess he will settle into more of a routine before too long. It must be really hard with another young one who wants attention. Can you find a way of playing with her while you feed?

she will sometimes sit and read a book with me while i feed. it was ok when OH was off work because he spent all day playing with her but hes back at work today xx

Do you have any other family who can help out for a few days? I can see how it's going to be difficult for you on your own.

no one can take any time off just managed to have a nap because edward seems to go longer between feeds during the day. midwife came out and shes really pleased with him hes not lost any of his birth weight infact hes put on a tiny bit which has giveb me a real confidence boost boost feel like i must be doing something right now xx

Wow, that amazing he hasn't lost weight. He must be feeding really well. It will get easier when he starts going longer between feeds but it's going to be hard for you until things settle. Hugs

Wow well done hun. Its tough in the early weeks, i had a 19 months gap. But so much easier now

Tapatalking so cant see signatures

Thanks he seems to have slept most of today I think maybe we have day and night mixed up a bit. we have come to mums house because DD chases the dogs round so i can have a doze on the sofa while she is occupied x
