Lo keeps throwing up after feeds :( little bits of fresh milk with bits in but she does it a few times between feeds as well, quite a bit each time and it looks like clotted cream mixed with spit so not fresh.. is this reflux or something else? I'm starting to get really worried :'( xx

Ella does it something's if she has guzzled her milk down her, but it's never a regular thing. How much milk is she taking and how often? X

Defo sounds like it could be reflux. Did you say you went to a doc and they told you it was colic? Could you maybe see a different doc? Maube you could take her to an out of hours surgery tomorrow. In the meantime though maybe try giving her a bit of water to keep her jydrated. Must be awful for her and you :hugs: hope she's okay x

She's bf pringle so I'm unsure, and there's no set routine to feeds either.. I do have an over active let down though so she does guzzle a lot and gulps loudly, but I wind her three or four times through out the feed to try help, keep her upright for ages after too but it doesn't make a difference :(

Yep, twat of a gp! I don't think we have an out of hours surgery here rach (live in the sticks) but will check just incase as I really feel for her, she seems ok most of the time and doesn't cry before or after she spits up and will still nurse fine but she always seems hungry and wants feeding! Is this for comfort or because she is actually hungry? She will scream in frustration if I'm not quick enough for her! Another thing is it seems to have gotten worse since starting her on infacol? xx

I've heard somewhere babies with reflux feed for comfort cause it temporarily makes it feel better
I could be wrong though xx

Ooh I'm not sure about the infacol but if its making her worse and she's not actually showing any signs of a tummy ache I'd stop using it. You could maybe give nhs direct a call they'll advise you what to do for the best and and tell you if you have a local out of hours surgery x

Well phoned nhs direct and they got me onto a nurse who got me on to a triage nurse who made me an appointment at the hospital! They couldn't really advise me over the phone because gracie's symptoms weren't the usual to colic or reflux so said it was best to see a doctor. Turns out she's just an over eager beaver when she's eating and plus with my over active let down she just getting too much milk and over filling herself so not all of it gets digested properly and just sits in her stomach and this is what she brings back up.. so relieved to know its nothing serious! Thanks for your help though girls xx

How long after the feeds is she throwwing up? If it is straight away it is probably just that she is either drinking too much or just a possity baby.

If it is an hour or 2 after the feed & more than a few times then it is most likely to be reflux. If so I recommend you ask your doctor to prescribe 'Carobel'. It is a milk thickener and was the solution to our lo's problems. We tried gaviscon & enfamil AR, and a few other things but nothing was as successful as carobel. If you do get it remember that you will need to change to a bigger size teat to enable the thicker milk to get thru... x

sorry danti, hadn't read all of the thread when I posted, glad to hear you got to the bottom of the problem x
