Hi ladies, as you all know, I have my appointment in just over a week with a gyno to get some tests done (scans I think as bloods were normal) to check for PCOS.

Anyways, I was really hoping in a strange kind of way that my period wouldn't arrive before my appointment (would be CD113!) but would you believe it, she hit me today on CD105!!!

I was eyeing up the tub of Agnus Castus in my cupboard, wondering whether it'd be worth another go. I tried it this cycle, it obviously didn't work for me as it did some people but perhaps it's worth another go?

I just don't want to mess up any results that I'd get via the gyno if that makes sense? Like enhance them if you know what I mean? Part of me would rather not take anything and find out what's really happening without the aid of herbal stuff, but then I see success stories from ladies who used AC and I can't help but feel like I want another go.

Advice?

x x

I wouldn't take it if i was you MissJ.

There are just as many people who don't think AC works as there are people that think it does work. The only thing that is going to keep you on track to overcoming your cycle issues is a proper medical diagnosis and AC might screw that up.

You need to be patient ;)

I'm glad you got a period though! Nice to flush everything out :)

Thanks Lou, that's basically what I was thinking - I know it's just pure impatience rather than believing it'll work for me. ;)

I wouldnt take it hun, my Dr said they knew nothing about it when i asked at my 1st appt so not to bother with it. Go to them all natraul so they can do what they like :)

I would take LouiseB's advice. You want to know what's going on down there and definitely do not need the help of herbal remedies just yet. when you have had your scan and you know whats up then go for it. but allow them to see your body how it is naturally first.

xx

I was in the same dilema before my appointment Miss J and I decided not to take it for the same reasons that you said. I didnt want it to have any effect on my results. Was not sure if it would but didnt take it anyway just incase.

Hey chick - the witch got me too on sunday after my 129 day cycle! but im actually relieved. However im in the same debate as you. I started taking starflower oil but im unsure whether i should take it this cycle seen as tho im still waiting for my gyno appointment!

Good luck with your appointment xxx

Hey Hun,

I definitely wouldn't bother, all 3 cycles I took it I ended up OVing a whole week later than usual. Only positive was I did get pregnant twice although I don't know whether it was the AC.

I think you need something stronger than AC to fix you up, even if you haven't got PCOS they'll probably give you Clomid anyway, have they mentioned Clomid to you yet?

Good Luck for your scan Hun! :)

xx

Thanks everyone, I'd already decided in my mind that it wouldn't be right to take it before my appointment cos I don't want the results to be affected by it. I just had a moment of feeling really impatient and wondered whether I could make things work faster than the gyno could lol! :D

Maybe - No, the GP only mentioned Metformin so I asked him about Clomid and he said they'd prefer the Metformin as it's had more success..? Not sure whether that's correct or not, but I think the gyno will be able to discuss it more - he might have a completely different opinion.

I've done a bit of research and as ever, it looks like there are loads of success stories but of course some aren't as lucky and from what I read, were still taking Metformin a year later and still not getting anywhere.

I'm positive that my story will be a success story, I want that Christmas BFP! ;)

Expectations are probably a bit too high cos we don't even know if I'll defo get Metformin/Clomid, but if I got a BFP for Christmas, that'd be bloody amazing.

Whether or not i get a christmas BFP will decide on where i have my xmas lunch!

If i get a BFP then we will go to the inlaws (so that baby's first xmas can be with my parents) but if it's a BFN then i think hubby can go to his parents and i will go to mine because not sure i can stand watching pregnant SIL picking over her food if i don't have a bump myself as an excuse to pig out :)

Aw Lou! Hmmm maybe I can use mine as an excuse to stay home by ourselves this year - our last Christmas on our own and all that... I don't want to see my pregnant SIL either. :hugs: x x
