my stomach has gone down alot since i had callum(lol prob cos he was so big!!) but i cant stop eating rubbish!!! i tell myself i wont then do it anyway, how did the rest of you manage????

Oh hun, I wouldn't worry too much about it at the mo. Are you b/f? I ate so much junk it was silly. I just got to a point when J was about 2 months old that I had to lose some weight as I still couldn't get into my normal clothes.

I think a lot of will power & determination is required. I find when I get into the swing of it it gets easier, its just the first few days that are the hardest coz as soon as you say no, you want it even more

yeah im breastfeeding, i know ta helps alot and i know you have 2 eat more but im just eating junk!!!

Hi

I was the same! Only my awful eating habits continued until Olivia was 4 months old  at which point I'd put on more since having her than whilst I was pregnant so I knew it was time to buckle down!

My SIL ate loads of junk with my nephew and breastfeeds him and she became stick thin, so I automatically assumed I would also lose weight with the breastfeeding but unfortunately it hasn't happened!

My advice would be to make sure you have healthy snacking foods in the house to eat so you don't automatically reach for the crisps/chocolate/cakes. If you need a quick hunger fix have a bowl of cereal as it should give you a sugar boost as well.

I think alot of the sugar/junk craving is when us new mums are so knackered our bodies are exhausted and just crave the instant (and temporary) energy fix!
