Help with percentiles.

Liv got weighed yesterday and was 14lbs exactly

But my question is she has gone from the 50th percentile to the 75th. What does this mean and is it bad? The healh visitor just nodded and moved on to the next. :'/

Also she never lost any when she was born she just started putting weight on straight away. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Just means she is gaining weight and moved to a dif weight category she is good belle was born 90th centile and is now just on the bottom line of the 9th I think allot is put into it tbh as long as she is happy and well she is good

It means that 25% of babies her age are heavier, and 75% are lighter - all perfectly normal...sounds like she's doing really well

Hi hun,
Its fine. As Sam's mum said it's just showing how they are doing compared to the average child their age.
Also, my Mw told me that all babies lose a little weight, but they put it back on fast, so most aren't aware that the baby lost any weight at all as it goes straight back on, and then some!
