help with cycle dates please

I'm a bit confused as to how to work out my cycle/ovulation dates

When AF hits I usually get a couple of days of fairly light, brownish bleeding before I get the pain and red blood. Which day should I take as day 1 of my cycle?

I have never got a positive result on an ovulation test so need to know so I can be a bit more accurate with my dates.

as soon as i see bloody i count that as day 1, dunno about anyone else lol xx

When it's bright red blood, that's day 1 hun
